Role Description SEH is currently searching for a Design Engineer - Civil to join our talented Civil team! This Opportunity: - Opportunity for immediate involvement in ongoing projects - Providing strong quality management and quality assurance for all design plans and deliverables - Supporting members of our Civil Engineering teams - Use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for analysis and design of: - Roadways - Trails - Sidewalks - Water main - Sanitary and storm sewer systems - Grading and earthwork calculations - Site improvements - Use of Microsoft Excel for development of project bid item tables, quantities, and cost opinions - Prepare construction plans and specifications, site plans, grading and drainage plans, studies, and reports for a wide range of public and private infrastructure systems - The position may serve as a Field Engineer or assist survey crews during construction of various projects - Manage work activities and team responsibilities and report to supervisor and team members on status of project tasks Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field - Previous experience or training with AutoCAD Civil 3D - Previous experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word) - Previous Civil Engineering or construction experience including internships - Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret engineering plans and topographic maps Requirements - This opportunity is open to candidates residing in Indiana, Michigan, or Wisconsin - The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future - Due to current business and operational considerations, unable to hire employees residing in the following states at this time: AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, and PR. • Serve as a key member of the ERP implementation team • Collaborate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, modifications, approvals, and client invoicing needs • Set up and approve new projects within the ERP system • Analyze project revenues and expenses monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting • Make system adjustments to project data as requested by Project Managers • Prepare accurate draft and final invoices for billable projects • Communicate and coordinate with cross-office teams and accounting personnel • Partner with the Records Department to maintain and file billing documentation • Compile data and prepare reports as needed • Support the month-end close process • Perform accounts receivable analysis and assist with collection efforts • Provide year-end audit support • Maintain a strong working knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple projects for a variety of clients • Maintaining close relationships with clients throughout development of projects and after completion • Managing, mentoring, and working with staff as needed to provide a positive team environment • Maintaining an understanding of relevant regulatory programs, funding requirements, design standards and procedures through active participation in continuing education programs and professional associations • Representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings • Prepare project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects • Present proposals to clients, interview for projects, and select project teams • Being an internal project manager and determining major project design decisions in conjunction with client • Performing complex design calculations • Checking accuracy of completed work and being responsible for ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed
• Serve as a technical lead on multidisciplined civil engineering projects across Texas, especially in the greater Austin area • Lead the expansion of SEH’s local public market presence, supporting the launch and growth of SEH’s Austin office and services • Recruit, grow, and mentor a team of civil engineers dedicated to excellence and innovation • Foster collaborative relationships within SEH, sharing expertise and supporting client solutions • Communicate SEH’s civil engineering capabilities to prospective and current clients, establishing new market opportunities • Develop and strengthen connections with key municipal and utility clients, nurturing trust and long-term partnerships • Identify and pursue federal, state, and local funding opportunities that enable client success and SEH’s business growth
• Manage Structural Engineering projects and clients • Build a team of design engineers on structural building projects for primarily private clients • Provide technical leadership, oversight and quality control for designs performed by staff • Participate in business development and marketing • Actively pursue project opportunities and lead a team in preparing project proposals for structural projects • Assist the practice leadership team in developing and implementing strategic growth to meet short and long-term plans and financial goals
Role Description SEH is currently searching for a Highway Design Technician to join our talented Transportation team! This Opportunity: - Performing mid to high-level technician work on civil engineering design related to highway transportation projects in MicroStation product-based platform. - Prepare preliminary design sheets and final design sheets. - Work with engineers for modeling and design computing of projects. - Prepare quantity computations. - Assist in design alterations and planning. - Accurately draft information in various software programs. Qualifications - Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience. - Extensive experience in Civil Engineering Technology or related field. - Strong understanding of civil engineering and IADOT design regulations. - Basic understanding of mathematical skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word/Excel). - Basic understanding of civil engineering construction and surveying practices. - Working knowledge and experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD. Requirements - This position is expected to work less than 20 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in preliminary and final design drafting on IADOT projects. • Develop and produce design materials across print and digital formats, including marketing collateral, presentations, infographics, and conference/event graphics • Translate technical content, data, and written narratives into clear, visually engaging graphics and infographics • Lead client-facing and project-related efforts by creating high-quality layouts, presentations, and visual storytelling that helps communicate technical solutions • Collaborate with marketing team, technical teams, and external partners to deliver thoughtful, effective design solutions • Apply SEH brand standards consistently across all materials • Manage multiple projects at once, balancing deadlines and priorities with minimal oversight • Use project management tools to track work, communicate progress, and stay aligned with team workflows • Explore new design approaches and AI/tools to improve quality and efficiency
