Role Description The Retail & eCommerce Analyst is responsible for transforming raw sales data from retail partners, Shopify, and Amazon or Amazon Partner/Accelerator into actionable business insights. This role owns the end-to-end development of recurring and ad hoc performance reports, monitors SKU-level health across all channels, and serves as an early-warning system for demand planning, inventory risk, and revenue anomalies. The ideal candidate blends technical data skills with commercial acumen to influence merchandising, supply chain, and category strategy decisions. Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field - 3–5 years of experience in a data analytics, sales analytics, or eCommerce reporting role - Demonstrated experience with Shopify analytics - Strong command of Excel and at least one BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) - Experience building automated reports and dashboards for business stakeholders - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data to non-technical audiences - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple reporting cadences simultaneously - Experience in CPG, consumer electronics, apparel, or other retail-focused industries (preferred) - Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python or R (preferred) - Familiarity with demand planning methodologies and S&OP processes (preferred) - Experience with retail EDI data (852 POS, 867 ship-and-debit) (preferred) - Knowledge of inventory health metrics and replenishment logic (preferred) Requirements - Build and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales dashboards across retail (brick-and-mortar partners), Shopify DTC, and Amazon Seller/Vendor Central channels – direct or provided by Partner/Accelerator - Track net sales, gross margin, units sold, returns, and sell-through rates by channel, region, and time period - Deliver executive-ready sales summaries with clear narratives on performance drivers, headwinds, and opportunities - Monitor revenue pacing against targets and flag variances with root-cause analysis - Analyze SKU-level performance metrics including velocity, rank, conversion rate, return rate, and contribution margin - Identify top performers, slow-movers, and at-risk SKUs across all channels - Track new item launch performance and provide early read-outs against forecast - Monitor listing health on Amazon (Buy Box ownership, suppressed listings, review scores) and Shopify (site search, add-to-cart, checkout drop-off) - Flag underperforming SKUs with recommended actions: promotional support, repricing, discontinuation, or bundling - Analyze category-level sales trends and competitive positioning across all channels - Identify growing, declining, and emerging categories; translate findings into assortment or promotional recommendations - Track franchise or brand family performance, comparing internal SKUs against category benchmarks - Deliver periodic category health scorecards covering share, growth, margin, and space productivity - Partner with product and brand teams to align category insights with go-to-market strategy - Develop and maintain sell-through and velocity models to inform replenishment forecasts - Provide demand signals to supply chain and planning teams identifying over- or under-stock risk at the SKU and channel level - Alert stakeholders to stockout risk, excess inventory, or unusual velocity changes requiring action - Collaborate with demand planning on seasonality curves, promotional lifts, and new product ramp-up models - Partner with Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and Supply Chain to align on data definitions and reporting cadences - Support trade marketing and promotional analysis measuring lift, ROI, and halo effects across channels - Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes, providing data-driven inputs to consensus forecasts - Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and visually compelling format - Maintain clean, well-documented data sources and transformation logic in central BI environments - Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports and dashboards - Work with IT or data engineering to onboard new retailer EDI or API data feeds - Document reporting methodologies, KPI definitions, and update cadences in a shared knowledge base Benefits - Competitive salary - Flexible working hours - Remote work opportunities - Health and wellness programs - Professional development and training Company Description We are a dynamic company focused on leveraging data to drive business insights and improve performance across retail and eCommerce channels.
