Role Overview The Senior Manager of Accounting oversees daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all financial activities. This role may mentor accounting personnel, maintains internal controls, and ensures the integrity of financial data and reporting. The Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting audits and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. - Mentor and support the accounting team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. - Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards. - Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion. - Perform CECL and ASC 842 calculations independently and ensure proper implementation and documentation. - Oversee sales tax activities, ensuring compliance with state and industry-specific tax requirements. - Maintain internal controls and identify areas for improvement in accounting processes. - Collaborate with Finance and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity. - Support audits and regulatory filings through accurate recordkeeping and documentation. - Monitor and analyze trends to detect and prevent fraud or accounting irregularities. Required Qualifications - Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred; Bachelor’s degree with significant accounting experience accepted. - Experience working within a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) environment is required. - 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, with supervisory experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and the ability to independently calculate CECL and ASC 842. - Working knowledge of state and industry-specific sales tax regulations. - Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar). - Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and lead process improvements. - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. - Strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to identify potential fraud or financial risk and take corrective action proactively.
