Learn more at www.gevernova.com The Project Management Processes and Tools Leader will assume authorship and responsibility for all Project Management and Project Controls related processes and procedures. This leader will help create standard work framework and lead the implementation of the toll gates starting with the Project Risk. This individual will review input from leadership that identifies gaps and resolve them with appropriate procedural updates and/or creation. Where processes are unclear or missing, this individual will coordinate the leadership team to shore up those processes/procedures. In addition to working the processes and procedures, this individual will advocate for and pursue appropriate tools to modernize the project management and project controls suite of capabilities. The Leader will work closely with the Director of the PMO and the Program Assurance Lead to ensure gaps are identified and closed swiftly and effectively. This individual will act on behalf of the Director of the PMO in leading process improvement activities across Advanced Nuclear and ensure alignment with GE Nuclear processes. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: - Ensures project management standards and practices are followed in accordance with business policies, and projects are delivered within schedule and cost constraints. - Proactively identify and evaluate potential risks within projects and suggest mitigation strategies. Track the effectiveness of these strategies. - Evaluate quality of project deliverables against defined standards and criteria - Identify opportunities to optimize project management practice and improve efficiency. - Contributes towards strategy and policy development. - Has in-depth knowledge of industry best practices. - Operates within a highly matrixed environment, and understands how this role integrates with other key roles on the team, such as the Process and Tools lead. - Uses problem solving skills and operational judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. - Acts as a SME for colleagues with less experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Develops persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. Provide support, council and recommendations to section management. - Implement plans with functional leads to respond to issues/problems and define corrective actions. - Champion a culture of continuous improvement. - Define and deploy relevant training curriculum to expand Project Management and Project Controls knowledge. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college (or equivalent). - At least 7 years of relevant work experience (nuclear industry engineering/operations experience, project management, risk management, construction management, contracts management or equivalent). - At least 5 years of project management or project controls experience. Eligibility Requirements - The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered. - This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
