JOB SUMMARY The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing personnel in the accounting department and performing an array of accounting services including data review, data entry, reconciliation and transaction processing, and numerous other tasks and projects. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. - Provide financial information in an accurate and timely manner. - Interpret and apply accounting policies and regulations to ensure compliance. - Oversee timely month-end financial close process. Identify trends, potential cost savings, and opportunities for financial improvements - Summarize current financial status by assisting with analysis of general ledger accounts. - Submission of financial statements in a timely manner. Working with operational staff to review P&L and other financial statements to improve profitability of departments. - Manage financial vendor relationships, such as CPA, banking, etc. - Work with accounting software to identify areas of better analysis, entries and development to align AccessDS and current software programs. - Financial Modeling and Forecasting Other duties & special projects, as assigned and based on business needs. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: Master’s degree in Accounting or related Finance degree required. Proficient in Quickbooks accounting software. JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of experience in an operational finance/accounting position. Business experience in a healthcare and/or insurance setting is preferred. JOB RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Present exceptional communication skills with a clear understanding of company business lines. The ability to apply critical thinking, manage time efficiently and meet specific deadlines. Computer literacy and typing skills are essential. Highly analytical, detail oriented and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently to meet individual and team goals. Thrive in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate computer skills in Excel Experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash applications Knowledge of insurance billing for claims is a plus, dealing with confidential information. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Any lifting, bending, traveling, etc. required to do the job duties listed above. Long periods of sitting and computer work. WORK FROM HOME TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Supply and support their own internet services. Maintaining an uninterrupted internet connection is a requirement of all work from home position. This is a high-ownership role with meaningful influence over finance systems, process design, and internal controls in a growing venture-backed SaaS company. You will lead payroll (U.S. and international), own accounts payable and expense management, support accounts receivable (A/R) billing operations, contribute to the month-end close, and drive process improvements that strengthen accuracy and internal controls. You’ll work closely with QuickBooks Online, Coastal Payroll, Brex, Bill.com, and invoicing/procurement platforms.   This high-impact individual contributor position requires a detail-oriented, autonomous, and proactive accountant capable of handling complex accounting tasks in a fast-growing, venture-backed environment.
