• Own and drive gameplay systems architecture across AtomEngine, providing technical direction on complex, cross-cutting problems. • Provide architectural input across multiple concurrent projects — raise the quality ceiling and hit rate on feature delivery. • Collaborate closely with designers and PMs to shape features from concept through delivery, ensuring technical feasibility, performance, and schedule alignment. • Implement and optimize gameplay systems using Godot, GDScript, and C++. • Design with a deep understanding of client/server architecture, state replication, latency, and scale. • Partner with QA and testing teams to validate features, identify edge cases, and drive quality outcomes. • Mentor mid and junior engineers — invest in the team's growth, not just your own output. • Write and maintain clear technical documentation to support long-term maintainability and cross-team collaboration.

• Learn to use and master AtomEngine to create and run war-game scenarios in single-player and multi-player configurations. • Identify bugs, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement in AtomEngine and in Battle Road’s processes. • Perform a variety of Testing tasks in a timely, efficient, and thorough manner. • Tasks include Load Testing, Stability Testing, Functionality Testing, and other tasks as needed. • Communicate effectively with team members to learn new systems quickly, get & stay unblocked, and provide actionable test results in real time. • Be agile and adaptive to the demands of fast-moving workflows, priorities, and deliverables. • Work with Test leadership to create and maintain clear, detailed test plans and procedures. • Test AtomEngine’s Developer Mod Kit, identifying and reporting bugs as well as providing feedback to ensure the best user experience possible.

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, setting a high bar for ownership, execution, and operational excellence. • Own the systems and engineering practices behind CI/CD, release automation, and environment management across the company. • Establish standards, in conjunction with other directorates, for thoroughly tested releases, rollback procedures, and operational readiness so teams can ship safely and predictably. • Ensure security controls are integrated directly into the software delivery lifecycle, including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, artifact integrity, and policy enforcement. • Reduce deployment risk, shorten recovery times, and create clear operational expectations around release quality, uptime, and incident response. • Partner with various technical teams to provide support for reusable tooling, disparate deployment patterns, and repeatable workflows that improve delivery without creating bottlenecks. • Build systems and processes that support traceability, access control, change management, and compliance requirements across regulated customer environments.

• Collaborate closely with designers on core real-time collaboration features such as dashboards, maps, timeline visualizations, and briefing workflows—cornerstones of operational planning in Onebrief. • Translate mission and user needs into functional, data-driven interactive prototypes that validate workflows and behaviors before development. • Help evolve Onebrief’s design system, ensuring component durability, performance, and accessibility across verticals. Includes contributions in both Figma and code. • Extend the system’s tokens, components, and interaction patterns for consistency without slowing delivery. • Partner with engineers to implement design at scale, balancing fidelity, feasibility, and performance. • Move rapidly from sketch to prototype to production, using the right fidelity for each stage (Figma or code-adjacent). • Validate usability through prototypes and tests that prove solutions before development. • Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g. Figma Make, V0, Cursor, Lovable, etc.) to accelerate prototyping and validate behaviors quickly. • Ensure shipped features meet accessibility, reliability, and performance standards expected by military users.

• Design, develop, test, iterate, and deploy secure production systems across cloud-native and edge appliance deployments • Embed with cross-functional teams and advise on infrastructure, security, and deployment best practices that hold up in production • Own end-to-end infrastructure outcomes for one or more critical programs or priority infrastructure initiatives • Harden the artifact pipeline so the same signed builds run in cloud, single-tenant high-side, and air-gapped appliance deployments

• Solve complex military planning problems and help develop a seamless, end-to-end planning tool. • Travel and partner with military planners from around the world. • Empathize with military planners’ needs and translate those into design solutions. • Work across UX, UI, and user research covering all facets of the product, from defining ground-up new features to shaping our design system. • Collaborate closely with product managers and founders, with flexibility to reshape your role as needed.

Position OverviewAt Battle Road by Onebrief, we’re building the next generation of military modeling and simulation technology through AtomEngine, our modern, game-engine-based platform. We are replacing decades-old legacy systems with a more accurate, flexible, and operationally relevant simulation environment. Our technology is already being used in major U.S. military training exercises and command environments. We are seeking a Customer Success Engineer who wants their technical work to directly influence how military leaders train, plan, and make decisions. This is not a traditional customer success role. This is mission-facing engineering. About The RoleAs a Customer Success Engineer, you operate at the intersection of engineering and mission execution. You will deploy into real-world military training environments, including Secret and air-gapped systems. You will develop features for, extend, and configure AtomEngine iteratively onsite with customers. You may be standing in front of senior officers, fielding questions, adapting simulations live, and ensuring customers achieve their goals on the platform. You are the last mile between cutting-edge simulation technology and the warfighter.
