Role Description Nue is redefining how SaaS companies manage their quote-to-cash motion — and we're doing it faster than anyone else in the market. As VP of Customer Delivery, you'll own the organizational function that turns that promise into reality for every customer we sign. This is not a traditional Professional Services leadership role. We're not looking for someone to manage a bench of consultants executing implementations one at a time. We're looking for a builder — someone who sees AI agents, automated orchestration, and partner leverage as the delivery model, and people as the architects who design, govern, and continuously improve it. You'll consolidate what were previously two separate functions — Professional Services and Field Engineering — into a single, unified Customer Delivery organization. Your mandate is to dramatically accelerate time-to-value, reduce delivery cost, and raise quality — simultaneously — by shifting from labor-intensive delivery toward AI-augmented, partner-led execution. What You'll Own - AI-First Delivery Architecture - Redesign the delivery model from the ground up around AI workflow orchestration. - Define and own the AI toolchain for delivery. - Drive measurable reduction in time-to-implement and delivery cost per customer through progressive automation. - Establish feedback loops between delivery outcomes, AI workflow performance, and product roadmap priorities. - Partner-Led Delivery Ecosystem - Set the strategic vision and investment model for partner-led delivery. - Hold executive accountability for delivery outcomes across all partner-led engagements. - Establish the governance framework: delivery standards, certification requirements, and quality thresholds. - Sponsor the development of AI-powered tooling, implementation playbooks, and architectural blueprints. - Serve as the executive escalation point for at-risk or strategically significant partner-led engagements. - Delivery Excellence & Technical Standards - Partner with the Director of Solutions Architecture to maintain technical standards. - Ensure all implementations are delivered to a consistent, scalable standard. - Own the executive escalation layer for technically complex or at-risk implementations. - Ensure FDE work product feeds back into reusable assets and product improvements. - Team Leadership & Organizational Design - Lead the unified Customer Delivery organization in partnership with directors. - Set direction, remove blockers, and create the conditions for each director to lead their function effectively. - Own hiring standards, career frameworks, and enablement programs. - Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high-quality execution. - Commercial & Cross-Functional Ownership - Partner with Sales on scoping, SOW structuring, and deal design. - Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure delivery transitions are clean. - Partner with Product to surface delivery insights and influence roadmap. - Own delivery P&L: utilization, gross margin, services revenue, and time-to-implement targets. Operational Metrics You'll Drive - Time-to-implement (across internal and partner-led) - Implementation success rate and escalation rate - Delivery gross margin - Partner delivery quality scores - CSAT / NPS across implementation engagements - AI workflow automation coverage (% of implementation tasks handled by agents vs. humans) Qualifications - 10–15+ years in Professional Services, Field Engineering, or Customer Delivery leadership - At least 5 years in a VP or senior leadership role with direct P&L responsibility - Proven track record redesigning delivery organizations for scale - Experience moving from labor-intensive delivery toward tooling, automation, or partner-leverage models - Genuine excitement about AI-augmented delivery - Deep expertise in CPQ, Billing, and Quote-to-Cash systems - Salesforce platform depth (Apex, data model, integrations) strongly preferred - Familiarity with ERP integrations (NetSuite, Workday), tax services (Avalara, Anrok) - Strong partner and ecosystem management experience - Comfortable defining delivery standards, certification programs, and quality governance for partner SIs - Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience - Commercial acumen: SOW construction, delivery pricing, margin management - Ability to operate at multiple altitudes - Strategic enough to design the future operating model; hands-on enough to get in the weeds on a difficult implementation when needed Bonus Points - Background in high-growth SaaS (Series B–E) - Experience with usage-based billing, revenue recognition (ASC 606), or complex multi-product pricing models - Experience building or managing offshore/global delivery teams - Experience building an AI-augmented delivery workflow Why This Role - You'll build the delivery model that replaces the traditional PS playbook. - Direct influence over product roadmap, partner strategy, and company revenue. - High executive visibility — reporting directly to VP of Services & Customer Success with board-level exposure. - The scale challenge is real and unsolved: you'll be designing the organization, tooling, partner model, and AI workflows largely from scratch.
Role Description We are looking for a Director of IT to own and lead the corporate IT function at Nue. You will set the strategy and vision for corporate IT architecture, identity, compliance, and operations, and build the team and systems needed to support a fast-growing, distributed revenue platform. You will be the most senior IT leader in the organization, reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with Engineering, Dev Services, Finance, and People. Nue runs an interim operating model with no dedicated CIO or CISO. Role Description The Senior Staff Software Engineer is one of Nue's senior-most individual contributors, responsible for shaping the technical direction of the platform across multiple product teams. This role sets the multi-year technical strategy in their domain, drives the architecture decisions that other teams build on, and operates as a force multiplier for engineering — through code, design, mentorship, and judgment. - Set multi-year technical direction - Define the technical roadmap for a major platform area (e.g., lifecycle management, billing, integrations, data platform) across multiple teams and quarters. - Make build-vs-buy and platform-vs-feature trade-offs at the company level, with clear written rationale. - Sequence the technical investments that unblock the company's largest customers and the next two years of growth. - Bring a strong, well-reasoned point of view to architecture reviews — and the credibility to push back on leadership when the data warrants it. - Architect systems other teams build on - Design and lead the implementation of foundational systems — distributed services, data flows, APIs, integrations, and shared libraries — that span product teams. - Lead non-trivial migrations and modernizations: HA upgrades, language/framework moves, monolith decompositions, schema changes, multi-region rollouts. - Set the technical standards for service ownership, API contracts, observability, and reliability that every team adopts. - Own the architecture of one or more business-critical flows end-to-end (e.g., quote-to-cash, billing, sync). - Ship code that matters - Stay deeply hands-on. Lead the implementation of the highest-leverage and highest-risk projects yourself. - Write code that becomes the reference example for what "good" looks like at Nue. - Pair with senior and staff engineers on the hardest problems; unblock teams stuck on technical depth. - Drive customer outcomes through engineering - Be the technical owner for the engineering work that unblocks Nue's largest customers. - Convert ambiguous customer asks into bounded engineering work with clear scope, owners, and dates. - Be on the call when production is on fire for a strategic customer — and be the senior-most engineer making the call to roll forward, roll back, or escalate. - Coach and mentor other engineers - Mentor and develop Staff and Senior engineers across the company. Help two or three of them grow into Staff or Senior Staff over the course of the year. - Embed deep technical thinking into design reviews, code reviews, and engineering planning across product teams — not just your own. - Build internal tools, shared libraries, and AI-assisted workflows that let every engineer ship faster. - Champion engineering excellence: testing, observability, security, performance, and operational maturity. - Drive engineering excellence at the org level - Help define the engineering standards the org operates against — testing strategy, observability bar, security posture, dev productivity, code review norms. - Partner with engineering managers, the CTO, and product leadership to translate strategy into engineering execution. - Champion AI-assisted engineering as a first-class capability — prompt libraries, agents, and internal tooling that compound the team's leverage. - Raise the bar in hiring: act as a bar-raiser, calibrate levels, and grow the senior IC pipeline. - Be the company's senior technical voice - Represent Nue's engineering org in critical customer conversations, vendor evaluations, and partner integrations where deep technical credibility is required. - Contribute to public engineering presence where it serves the company — talks, posts, OSS — without losing focus on internal impact. Qualifications - 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a sustained track record of operating at Staff level or higher in a high-bar engineering org. - Demonstrated track record of designing and shipping foundational systems used by multiple teams — services, frameworks, data infrastructure, or shared platforms. - Deep expertise in at least one modern backend stack (Java/Spring, Node/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar) with strong fluency in at least one more, plus the design judgment to know when each fits. - Strong systems-design ability: distributed systems, data modeling, consistency trade-offs, performance, scaling, and reliability — proven on systems with significant production load. - Hands-on production expertise across cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus / Grafana, or equivalent). - Strong fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) and a track record of materially accelerating both your own work and your team's through them. - Demonstrated track record of leading a team or org through a significant architectural transition (HA migration, language/framework move, multi-region, monolith → services). - Track record of mentoring senior and staff engineers; multiple engineers will say you were materially responsible for their growth. - Excellent written and verbal communication; comfort defending technical positions in front of executive leadership. Benefits - Competitive compensation and benefits that reward your talent and impact. - Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance. - A front-row seat in the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem, where you’ll work on cutting-edge challenges shaping the future of SaaS, finance, and payments. - The opportunity to build truly groundbreaking products — your work won’t just support the business; it will influence how companies around the world monetize and grow. - A high-energy, collaborative culture where smart, supportive teammates push each other to learn fast, think boldly, and do the best work of their careers. - Room to grow, lead, and make your mark in a fast-scaling company that values creativity, ownership, and ambition.
