• Develop a deep understanding of NovoEd’s capabilities for new and existing products, identifying the benefits, differentiators, and value statements of each, and lead go-to-market efforts for them • Identify dynamic market trends, the competitive landscape, and changing customer needs to help accelerate our growth • Define user and buyer personas, prioritize their biggest challenges, define segments, understand purchasing behaviors, and research competing offerings • Craft compelling enterprise messaging and positioning that excites and educates customers, and informs our unique product strategy • Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to build impactful demos and sales enablement materials • Partner with product managers and developers to bring new features and products to market • Lead cross-functional operational readiness teams to price, position, and sell new products • Define and analyze the competitive landscape for new and existing products and partner with product managers to prioritize growth opportunities
• Manage end-to-end recruiting operations for both full-time positions and contingent hiring efforts • Develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs • Draft and post job advertisements, coordinate communication with candidates and hiring managers, schedule interviews, and maintain the applicant tracking system (Greenhouse) • Plan onboarding and offboarding activities and perform new employees orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data • Process background and reference checks efficiently to ensure a thorough evaluation of potential candidates • Compose new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employees’ experience • Proactively identify cultural trends and create action plans to enhance employee engagement • Consistently champion the cultivation of an environment that aligns with NovoEd’s vision for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance management programs • Assist in developing and implementing employee training & development programs • Support employees with efficient problem-solving when any human resources issues arise • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to leaves of absences, grievance matters, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters
• Design scalable, collaborative, and social online learning experiences used by Fortune 500 companies, universities, and training organizations • Own 1-2 major projects at any time, serving as the design lead who shapes solutions from initial problem exploration through final implementation • Partner closely with the product management team to frame problems, define project scope, explore multiple design approaches, and make well-reasoned recommendations • Provide production-ready mocks and assets, and work closely with engineers to balance quality and feasibility • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and understand user goals • When challenges arise, proactively align stakeholders, propose solutions, and adjust scope as needed • Help shape the future of our product by contributing to product strategy and roadmap discussions
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems primarily using Ruby on Rails. Lead the architecture and development of backend services with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability. Contribute to both new feature development and modernization of legacy systems. • Use modern development workflows—including AI-assisted coding tools and coding agents—to accelerate development while maintaining rigorous engineering standards. Evaluate and validate AI-generated code to ensure correctness, security, and architectural consistency. • Lead the design and development of APIs (REST, GraphQL) that enable reliable communication between internal services and external platforms. Integrate third-party services while ensuring performance, security, and data integrity. • Collaborate closely with frontend teams to ensure clean service boundaries and consistent system behavior. Use modern tooling and AI-assisted workflows to improve API development, testing, and documentation. • Design and optimize relational databases to support high-performance and scalable applications. Ensure schemas, queries, and indexing strategies support complex workloads and evolving product needs. • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using observability tools and modern diagnostics, including AI-assisted analysis when appropriate. • Own initiatives that improve platform performance, reliability, and overall engineering productivity. Identify systemic technical debt, architectural constraints, or operational inefficiencies that slow development or impact customer experience, and lead cross-team efforts to address them. Drive improvements to platform capabilities, developer tooling, and system architecture that enable teams to ship high-quality software more efficiently as the platform scales. • Drive the strategic identification and prioritization of technical debt across the platform. Identify systemic architectural constraints, legacy patterns, or platform-level inefficiencies that impact scalability, development velocity, or customer experience. Partner with engineering leadership and product teams to prioritize remediation efforts based on technical risk and business impact. • Drive engineering improvements that increase developer productivity and accelerate the delivery of reliable, high-quality features. Identify systemic bottlenecks in development workflows, infrastructure, or platform architecture that slow down teams, and lead initiatives to address them. • Serve as a technical leader in identifying and addressing complex issues that impact the reliability, performance, and scalability of the platform. Rather than focusing solely on reactive debugging, analyze production incidents and operational patterns to uncover systemic problems affecting the system.
• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Creator Platform within NovoEd’s Learn+ product, enabling organizations to create, manage, and scale collaborative learning experiences. • Conduct continuous customer discovery across enterprise organizations, executive education programs, training companies, and mid-market businesses to identify opportunities and validate product direction. • Own product initiatives from problem definition through release and iteration, working closely with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions. • Define product requirements, prioritize the roadmap, and make thoughtful trade-off decisions that balance customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility. • Partner with product marketing, sales, and customer success teams to support product launches, enable customer adoption, and help communicate product value. • Use data and customer insights to measure product impact, improve adoption, and expand how customers use the platform. • Collaborate directly with customers and prospects to gather feedback, demonstrate product capabilities, and inform product strategy.
