Role Description Our client is a specialist commercial insurance brokerage based in Australia, servicing established businesses across QLD, NSW and VIC. Their focus spans manufacturing, transport & logistics, wholesale/distribution, and construction - operating on a senior broker model built around proactive service and long-term client relationships. ICS is placing a remote skilled Commercial Underwriter into their growing team - This is a permanent remote role based in South Africa, working Australian business hours (4am to 12:30pm SAST). What you'll be doing - Underwriting and quoting across commercial lines - new business, renewals, endorsements, and risk assessment - Policy administration, amendments, and premium adjustments on Australian market platforms - Supporting the senior broker with client and insurer correspondence - Maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation in line with Australian regulatory requirements - Renewals management and proactive portfolio review support Qualifications - Minimum 10 years' experience in short-term insurance, with a strong commercial lines focus - Demonstrated tenure - long-standing, stable career history is a priority for this client - RE5 / FAIS compliant - Matric essential; degree or diploma advantageous - Confident written and spoken English - daily communication with Australian brokers and clients - Comfortable working Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT) which is equivalent to 4am - noon here in South Africa - Reliable fibre internet at home - minimum 100/100 Mbps - South African citizen, currently based in South Africa Salary R30 000 – R45 000 per month (market related dependent on experience) How to apply Quick process — your CV and basic details.
