Role Description FoodChain ID is seeking a Certification Program Supervisor to lead and support a team of Certification Specialists within our organic certification program. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong expertise in USDA Organic standards, a passion for team leadership, and a drive for operational excellence. As a Certification Program Supervisor, you will oversee daily certification operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with USDA National Organic Program (NOP) standards. You will play a key role in mentoring staff, improving processes, and collaborating cross-functionally to support both team success and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities - Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Certification Specialists, including hiring, training, performance management, and ongoing coaching. - Oversee certification workflows, approve certification decisions, assign client accounts, and ensure compliance with operational procedures and NOP standards. - Monitor team performance through audits, metrics, and reporting, and drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Finance, and internal leadership to resolve client issues and support program operations. - Support departmental initiatives including process improvements, team alignment meetings, accreditation audits, and management of key client accounts. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, or a related scientific field. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience with USDA National Organic Program (NOP) standards and certification processes. - Must have experience with Livestock and Organic Crop Production. - Demonstrated expertise in organic production, handling, and regulatory compliance. - Prior supervisory or team leadership experience, including mentoring and performance management. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and database systems. Training Requirements - Prior to Formal Authorization: - Initial basic training on policies, forms, files, web-system, etc. - Standards training as appropriate (NOP, etc.). - Monitored training period as needed to demonstrate competence. - Yearly Requirements to Maintain Authorization: - All certification review personnel continuously maintain adequate knowledge and skills in the current USDA organic standards, certification and compliance processes, traceability audits, mass-balance audits, and practices applicable to the type, volume, and range of review activities assigned. - Certification review personnel with less than one year of certification review experience must complete at least 50 hours of training within their first year performing certification review. - Certification review personnel with one or more years of certification review experience must annually complete at least 10 hours of training if conducting certification review related to one area of operation and an additional 5 hours of training for each additional area of operation. - Attendance at ACA/NOP Annual Meeting and review of all notifications of industry updates. - Attendance of update meetings and review of all notifications of industry updates. - Attendance of Annual OC Training Seminar. - Attendance of any additional trainings as deemed necessary. Role Description The Client Services department partners with customers to ensure long-term success. In this role, you will guide new applicants through the certification process, provide helpful resources, and ensure they feel confident every step of the way. You’ll work closely with clients, certification staff, and internal teams to deliver an excellent customer experience while helping organizations bring organic and responsibly produced products to market. What You’ll Do - Act as the primary contact for new applicants and prospective clients, helping them understand the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) requirements and certification process. - Guide clients through the Organic System Plan (OSP) modules and required documentation. - Prepare application packages, estimates, and helpful resources, including NOP materials and cost-share program information. - Create and manage applicant accounts in the SupplyTrak certification database, including conducting guided walkthroughs for clients. - Review applications to ensure they are complete and payment has been received before moving forward in the certification process. - Maintain consistent communication with applicants to support timely application completion, including assisting clients seeking certification reinstatement. - Collaborate with internal teams—including certification staff, accounting, inspectors, and IT—to resolve client requests and maintain accurate client records. Qualifications - 1+ years in a Business Development, Sales, or SDR role, preferably in a SaaS or technology sales environment. - Proven experience in cold prospecting and developing pipeline without relying solely on pre-qualified lists. - Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, or similar sales engagement platforms. - Creative and analytical thinker who’s comfortable working independently, and optimizing performance based on metrics. - Strong communicator with the ability to build rapport and spark curiosity in new prospects. - Industry knowledge within the food and beverage industry would be ideal, but not required. Role Description This position is for a Regulatory Affairs Expert in Food & Food Ingredients. The successful Regulatory Affairs Expert candidate will work with internal/cross-functional team members, customers, development teams, and stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure client satisfaction in your area of expertise. - Develop relationships and communicate customer inputs to internal team members. - Communicate back to customers the schedule of such to create a positive client experience. - Familiar with fields, concepts, practices, and procedures involved in regulatory compliance generally and Food and Food Ingredient compliance specifically. - Act as the face of the company to its clients in your area of expertise. - Acquire deep expertise in all aspects of your subject matter and/or related product modules. - Ensure that content provided to clients in their subject matter area across all products is current, accurate, and provides sufficient added value. - Identify and attend industry meetings, speak at conferences, and build deeper expertise. - Experience in USDA regulation, food labeling, and claims. Qualifications - Previous hands-on regulatory experience in the industry, preferably in Food and Food Ingredients. - Accomplishments including labeling/artwork and formulation review, regulatory product compliance across global regions. - Established and continued development in core competencies. - Excellent written and spoken communication skills and interpersonal skills. - Ability to communicate with customers and teams professionally. - Good time management skills and ability to provide on-time delivery of consulting outputs. - Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams located around the globe. - Proficient in written and spoken English (Proficiency in other languages a plus). - Solid organizational skills including attention to detail. Requirements - Up to 10% travel may be necessary. - Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. - Report to management once per month on status, issues, and personnel needs. Responsibilities as Regulatory Affairs Expert-Food and Food Ingredients - Assure scope and currency of regulatory content. - Identify/fix gaps or weaknesses in coverage. - Establish, control over, and maintain the audit process for data and timely updating of your modules. - Build trusting relationships with clients and introduce other team members. - Interact with Business Development to foster growth at existing and new clients. - Act as key account manager for at least 1-2 Top 25 clients. - Answer questions and coordinate with country researchers or other staff. - Train clients interactively on our tools. - Measure and report response times to improve client satisfaction. - Assist in product development and ensure consistency across products. - Document country hierarchy for your module and confirm with Research. - Communicate emerging concerns in your area of expertise. - Enter and reply to JIRA tickets for your module. - Attend weekly internal calls and contribute to related agenda. - Involved with regulatory consulting projects and assure timely completion. - Identify additional external short-term resources for projects. - Track hours according to established internal procedures.
