Role Description The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting both production and development database environments. This role ensures high availability, minimal downtime, and optimal performance across mission-critical data systems. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to evolve data models, support application development, and enable advanced analytics. The primary focus is on MySQL databases running on AWS Aurora, with additional responsibilities for DynamoDB, Redis, and Redshift. - Architect, maintain, and optimize MySQL databases supporting 24×7 production workloads. - Ensure minimal downtime and high performance through proactive tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning. - Execute maintenance, security releases, patches, and database upgrades. - Lead troubleshooting efforts for production database issues, including on-call support. - Partner with developers to define and evolve data models, schema changes, and deployment workflows. - Administer DynamoDB, Redis, and Redshift environments as part of the broader data ecosystem. - Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery frameworks, leveraging replication and cloud-native solutions. - Manage schema versioning and lifecycle from development through production releases. - Establish database security standards, backup strategies, retention policies, and auditing controls. - Design and deploy database management and monitoring tools to drive operational excellence. - Support scalability initiatives, including sharding and cloud-based horizontal expansion. - Utilize AWS services including CloudWatch, S3, Route 53, CloudFormation, and monitoring platforms (Datadog, AppDynamics). - Contribute within an agile development environment, demonstrating autonomy, ownership, and strong communication across teams. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field. - 6+ years of MySQL production DBA experience (design, implementation, backup/recovery, monitoring, performance tuning). - Proven 24×7 production support experience with strong troubleshooting skills. - 5+ years running systems in AWS cloud environments. - 5+ years managing databases on AWS managed services (Aurora MySQL, RDS, Redshift, EC2-hosted MySQL). - Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, AppDynamics). - Expertise in high-availability architectures and replication methodologies. - Experience executing live schema changes with minimal downtime. - Demonstrated ability to implement database management tooling across large-scale environments. - Familiarity with AWS ecosystem services such as S3, Route 53, and CloudFormation. - Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub). - Strong understanding of full database schema lifecycle management. - Experience with database security, backup strategies, and retention policies. - Proven experience scaling databases vertically and horizontally (including key-based sharding). - Experience managing NoSQL systems (DynamoDB, Redis, or equivalent). - Solid proficiency with Linux/Unix OS-level performance tuning. • Conduct financial consultations to identify client goals and recommend solutions aligned with their objectives • Facilitate onboarding and asset consolidation for clients entering Empower’s Wealth Solutions program • Utilize Salesforce and Empower’s planning tools to manage pipelines, document interactions, and follow up on opportunities • Collaborate with Senior Financial Advisors and Relationship Managers to ensure seamless client transitions • Meet monthly activity and conversion targets while maintaining regulatory and policy compliance

• Define the architectural strategy for Generative AI, LLM, and AI platform capabilities across the enterprise • Shape how enterprise data, knowledge, and metadata are structured and accessed for AI-driven use cases • Establish patterns for how data flows across ingestion, transformation, indexing, embeddings, and retrieval • Guide how AI systems handle ambiguity, variability, and non-deterministic behavior • Influence how models, data sources, APIs, and workflows are orchestrated into scalable systems • Establish how AI systems are evaluated, observed, and operated in production, including output quality, system behavior, and reliability

• Develop and define the enterprise Innovation & AI communications strategy in partnership with the Head of Innovation and drive execution across the organization. • Create and deliver high-impact presentations for prospective, new, and existing clients, consultants, partners, internal associates, senior leaders, and Executive Leadership. • Represent the organization as a keynote speaker at conferences, panels, client meetings, finalist presentations, roadshows, webinars, and internal events, and manage associated budgets. • Develop clear, compelling messaging that communicates the value, relevance, and responsible use of AI, generative AI, innovation, and emerging technology initiatives. • Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused narratives aligned to client value, customer experience, associate productivity, operational efficiency, and risk management. • Create and execute communication plans supporting major AI, innovation, and emerging technology initiatives, including roadshows and internal enablement efforts. • Develop, edit, and manage content through established approval processes in a highly regulated environment, including presentations, whitepapers, talking points, FAQs, RFP responses, client-ready narratives, demo scripts, and thought leadership materials. • Partner with Innovation, AI, Technology, Product, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Corporate Communications, and business leaders to ensure messaging accuracy, alignment, and approval. • Support RFPs, client due diligence, consultant inquiries, and finalist presentations related to AI, innovation, responsible AI, and digital capabilities. • Build and maintain a centralized library of approved messaging, presentation assets, use cases, proof points, demos, and executive-ready materials. • Manage the speaking engagement pipeline, including intake, prioritization, content development, approvals, speaker preparation, scheduling, and follow-up. • Coordinate logistics for presentations and speaking engagements, including venue setup, audio/visual needs, connectivity, materials, attendance, and supplies. • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory considerations, client needs, and competitive activity related to AI and innovation. • Recommend and implement updates to messaging, presentations, and enablement materials based on evolving business needs and technology capabilities. • Experiment with innovative storytelling formats, including interactive demos, video, synthetic media, webinars, podcasts, digital experiences, and innovation showcases. • Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Security Architect, you will drive both business and security innovation and play a key role in the evolution of Empower’s security architecture and functions. You will work as part of a security architecture team to provide guidance for the enterprise technology environment, with the goal of maturing the company’s security posture. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and standardizing the security architecture - Performing security assessments - Reviewing system designs for security considerations - Advising key stakeholders and service owners on risk management - Balancing security and business requirements The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience architecting secure computer systems and demonstrate excellent communication skills. A passion for emerging technology, such as Generative AI, is essential.
