• Conduct deep-dive analysis of DVA’s legacy application estate to identify dependencies, integration points, and technical debt. • Support the development of detailed Technical Roadmap components, by mapping application lifecycles and identifying optimal freeze or decommissioning points. • Document current-state technical architectures to inform the migration strategies for the program. • Act as the technical triage point for ECRs. You will validate the technical scope described by business teams is accurate and feasible before it is sent for costing. • Liaise with solution and technical architecture expertise on ECRs. • Analyse proposed technical solutions to ensure they align with the DVA Digital Strategy, Digital Investment Plan and Technology Roadmap. • Map data flows and interface specifications, as well as define technical requirements (with support from the team’s solution architecture stream). • Translate high-level solution designs produced by Architects into detailed functional and non-functional requirements for engineering teams. • Communicate and engage across DVA’s internal business teams (program, policy and enabling services), in addition to shared service providers – Services Australia, Department of Finance, Department of Defence, Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and external third-party vendors. • Hands-on development of technical assessments to support major capability decisions – ie, enablement of cloud, EDW migrations, solution assessments for digital/functional capabilities. • Map business and process dependencies, options analysis to support architecture stream.
• Create and oversee test plans and strategies including test plans using Azure DevOps • Write, review and execute test cases on web-based applications • Effectively prioritise testing efforts, and test case execution • Work within multi-disciplinary project teams to analyse documented specifications, user stories and requirements to generate test cases and test plans • Raise defects / issues and log and track faults using Departmental tools including Azure DevOps • Provide advice and input into Testing Strategy and support implementation of automation testing practices. • Testing digital solutions for conformance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) • Lead and engage with Business Stakeholders throughout the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Process • Be a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team using agile and traditional delivery methods • Undertake other duties as required

Role Description The ICT Operations Branch within the Department of Industry, Science and Resources provides ICT support and underpinning infrastructure services to the department and the Ministers' Offices, ensuring all staff in the department and MOs have access to stable and secure technology. The ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section falls within the ICT Operations Branch. The Infrastructure Platforms team is responsible for the management of all data centers, server hosts and virtualization, automation, storage, backup and restore capability. The team is also responsible for providing after hours on-call support for our infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Storage Engineer who has experience working in large complex ICT environments.
