THE ROLEWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Design Engineer (Modelling & Architecture) to play a key role in architecting and validating high-performance serial links and data-converter systems for our state-of-the-art chiplet solutions. You will directly shape the system architecture and behavioural models of customer-facing IP, driving early design decisions, performance exploration, and architectural trade-offs across SerDes, ADC/DAC, and PLL subsystems. This role is ideal for engineers with strong modelling expertise and system-level thinking, who enjoy bridging architecture and implementation in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. Hiring Manager: Christian Borelli, Founder and CSO KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSystem Architecture & Modelling:Define and develop system-level architectures and behavioural models for high-speed links and mixed-signal subsystems, including SerDes, ADCs, DACs, and PLLs. High-Level Modelling (MATLAB / Simulink):Build and maintain accurate system models in MATLAB/Simulink to evaluate performance, explore trade-offs, and guide design decisions across noise, jitter, bandwidth, and power. SerDes System Modelling:Develop end-to-end link models including channel, equalization (FFE/DFE), jitter budgets, and clock and data recovery (CDR) behaviour. ADC/DAC Modelling & Calibration:Model data converter architectures and implement advanced calibration algorithms (e.g. background calibration, mismatch correction, linearity enhancement), assessing system-level impact on ENOB, SFDR, and dynamic performance. PLL & CDR Behavioural Modelling:Develop behavioural models for PLLs and CDR loops, including phase noise, jitter transfer, loop dynamics, and locking behaviour. Cross-Domain Collaboration:Work closely with circuit designers, digital teams, and system architects to translate system requirements into block-level specifications and ensure model-to-silicon correlation. Performance Analysis & Optimization:Analyze system performance and identify architectural improvements across latency, power, robustness, and scalability. Verification Strategy Support:Contribute to system-level verification strategies and support correlation between behavioural models, RTL, and silicon measurements. Technology & Competitive Awareness:Stay current with industry trends in high-speed interfaces, data converters, and chiplet-based architectures, including benchmarking against competitive solutions. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:Produce clear and structured documentation of models, assumptions, and architectural decisions to enable efficient collaboration and reuse. THE ROLE The IP program Manager will be part of the Engineering’s program management team responsible for the SoC/IP development and delivery for Analogue Insight’s products and custom IP development businesses, giving the opportunity to contribute to the successes of key programs. THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a solid background in RF design, experience of taking a leading role on engineering projects and be an excellent communicator and will be split between designing RF systems at component level, and providing technical leadership for the development of projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Designing and developing RF systems at the component level. - Conducting performance tests and optimizations to meet specified performance criteria. - Leading integration and prototyping efforts to ensure seamless integration of sub-systems with larger systems or components. - Review projects progress, set priorities, and address challenges. - Conduct design reviews to ensure RF systems meet performance standards and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with baseband, software, and audio teams to integrate RF solutions into broader projects. - Assist mentors providing guidance and support on technical issues. - Engage in project management activities, such as updating project timelines, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Must-have Technical skills: - Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with a focus on analog/mixed-signal circuit design with 10+ years of industry experience, preferably within wireless systems - Experience of specifying technical requirements and taking a lead role in delivering against these requirements. - Strong expertise in CMOS process technologies, deep sub-micron nodes, and mixed-signal layout techniques. - Experience of analog design in FinFet technologies at 7nm and below will be a plus - Proficiency in EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, AMS and familiarity with hardware description languages (e.g. Verilog). - Proven track record of leading successful RF designs - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. - Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers. - Familiarity with industry standards, protocols, and compliance testing.
