Job Description

Onboarding Controller

BELAY

• Lead multiple client onboarding engagements • Serve as the primary client contact during onboarding • Assess clients’ accounting records • Lead accounting clean-up activities • Review balance sheet accounts and financial statements • Develop and document scalable accounting processes • Prepare and present initial financial reports • Coordinate with bookkeeping and internal teams • Identify project risks and escalate issues to leadership • Prepare transition documentation for recurring accounting team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Six or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience managing financial close processes, account reconciliations, and complex accounting clean-up activities
  • Experience leading client onboarding, accounting implementation, or historical clean-up engagements
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and explaining financial statements
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
