• Lead and scale a multi-disciplinary team of AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product Managers • Define the 3-year vision and technical roadmap for AI deployment across GTM systems • Direct the creation of production-grade AI models, consumption forecasting engines, and automated data pipelines • Set execution standards for AI-generated analysis and model outputs • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and RevOps leaders on data models • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally

• Drive alignment across engineering, product, and leadership on AI investment priorities and set the multi-year technical roadmap. • Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to take high-impact ML initiatives from concept to production. • Ensure high-quality, efficient data pipelines that support both business and AI needs. • Define and own success metrics that tie ML work directly to business outcomes. • Grow and mentor a team of ML/Data engineers, raising the technical bar across the org. • Lead and mentor a senior team of Managers and Engineers across Machine Learning, Data Engineering and Software Engineering. • This role is highly cross functional so you will partner with senior leadership across Engineering, Data Science, Product, and across our Business to align stakeholders, define multi-year roadmaps, set and execute on iterative milestones. • Coaching and developing team members, helping them grow their careers, technical expertise, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications - Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Ten (10) years of experience in Software Engineering, with at least five (5) years of post-bachelor's progressive experience. Requirements - Five (5) years of experience with/in managing, building, and leading engineering teams delivering software products. - Applying hands-on technical expertise at scale to guide architecture and technical strategy resolutions in collaboration with staff engineers. - Designing, delivering, and operating business critical services at scale. - User-facing product, front-end and back-end services, scaling database systems, and API design on a team of 4-8 engineers. - Designing and building services in monolithic and multi-service architectures. - DevOps and operational ownership, from standing up observability posture through managing and iterating on operational rigor and on-call health. • Serve as the founding project manager for the Engineering organization, standing up project cadence, tracking, and reporting practices from day one. • Drive delivery of Solutions Engineering projects for our most strategic enterprise accounts — custom plans, integrations, and statement-of-work-based engagements involving internal engineers, external contract engineers, or a blend of both. • Facilitate successful statement of work inception: ensure the right people are in the room for scoping, deliverables, estimation, and milestone definition, and hold the project accountable to what was committed. • Support Platform Engineering initiatives with the same delivery discipline: milestone tracking, dependency management, risk management, and clear stakeholder communication. • Deliver weekly business updates to executive and senior leadership across product and engineering, including the VP of Engineering and directors. • Partner closely with Customer Success and Solutions Consulting — the customer-facing owners of day-to-day relationships — to drive clear expectations, well-organized asks, and strong business cases; join customer calls directly when brought in. • Establish and maintain a clear communication plan for every project so no stakeholder is left guessing. • Assess our project management tooling, work effectively around gaps while they exist, and make recommendations on how to set up our tooling for long-term success (with support teams available for configuration).
