Senior Python Engineer, Integration

• Take full ownership of backend features and improvements, from design through implementation, deployment, and production support • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Python and Django • Build and maintain integrations with external systems, including KYC, geolocation, and payment partners, and other third-party services • Work closely with product and engineering teams to scope and deliver new integrations • Implement observability across integration flows, including monitoring, logging, and alerting • Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability, prevent regressions, and improve overall test coverage and testing practices • Support production issues and participate in on-call rotations

Job Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of development experience, with Python as the primary language and strong experience in API and system integrations
  • Proven experience integrating third-party APIs, with deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling. **Payments and KYC integrations are strong plus**
  • Experience with observability tools to monitor and troubleshoot production integrations
  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and concurrency
  • Experience in architecture design of highly loaded and scalable solutions
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production monitoring
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations

Job Introduction: The Global Finance Technology organization is looking to add a Senior Anaplan Solutions Architect to their team with a significant focus on Anaplan software and our planning & forecasting environment. The candidate will provide technical oversight and engineering solutions to most complex and strategic system and application development projects. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation of technology by developing clear, comprehensive and integrated system, technical and/or product recommendations which support business plans and long-term strategies. Oversees design reviews and frameworks for multiple product teams. Working closely with our technical team, drives adoption of architecture standards in order to promote operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency and cost optimization into operating norms. Recognized as a thought leader within discipline who influences decisions made by senior leadership and advances the craft of engineering within our organization. The candidate will be charged with taking our existing Anaplan environment - currently aligned to all SBUs - and evolving it to a cohesive enterprise platform. The candidate will lead the effort to standardize all individual business areas, create a cohesive and integrated system, and ensure that Anaplan and the planning process integrates seamlessly within our ecosystem (e.g. our Snowflake data platform, OneGL, etc.). The industry changes quickly, so we are looking for candidates who can respond to change, pick up new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements. We also want candidates who take pride in their work and have strong design and development expertise. We value quality code delivery and expect candidates to demonstrate competence at writing, testing and debugging code. About the job: - Drive platform standards - Develops clear, comprehensive and integrated system, technical and/or product recommendations that ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility within a business domain or portfolio. - Partners with data strategy team to ensure Anaplan is consistent with the Finance single version of the truth approach, including the management of dimension hierarchies and the understanding of upstream/downstream lineage. - Integration architecture and cloud competency - defines the standards for data flows through Liberty tools (e.g. IDMC) into Anaplan and to & from Snowflake. Maintain a working knowledge of AWS cloud-native patterns (S3 buckets, IAM policies, data encryption, etc. - Ensure development team understands and follows governance for documentation standards (model designs, runbooks, decision records). Work to define standards around monitoring, incident response, change management, data flow diagrams, etc. Create and maintain architecture diagrams. - Responsible in partnership with the Product Owner and Manager to develop a strategic roadmap for the platform making incremental but steady progress towards north star state. Serve as the primary technical liaison with Anaplan, evaluating new features, training needs, etc. Provide technical guidance on build vs. buy decisions. - Drive the inclusion of AI in the planning processes. - May at times assist teams with critical development. - Participates during incident management events and provides consultative recommendations on viable resolutions. - Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and technology teams. - Mentors staff to develop technical engineering capabilities. - Shares expertise ensuring that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering needs. Demonstrated through publication and speaking engagements or other indicators of external industry recognition of expertise. Qualifications - Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. - Minimum 12-15+ years of Anaplan Configuration Engineering experience. - Minimum 10+ years building scalable and maintainable Planning models. - Minimum 5+ years of Solutions Engineer experience specifically with Anaplan. - Anaplan Certified Model Builder strongly preferred. - Experience collaborating with different business stakeholders to translate needs to actionable technical specifications. - Experience designing and implementing integrations between Anaplan and other enterprise systems (EPR, CRM, data warehouses). - Experience acting as a technical advisor/coach on complex Anaplan issues and communicating complex Anaplan issues to non-technical partners. - Proficiency in product and system components of technical architecture. - In-depth knowledge of insurance operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends. - Strong influencing and consensus building skills, and the adaptability to respond to change quickly. - Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds. - Experience with agile practices and expectations. - Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. - Strong consulting skills (relevant/technical); recognized as a thought leader within the company. - Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of decisions.
