Role Description - Provide technical and escalation support as well as monitor day to day operations of network and security infrastructure. - Interpret monitoring console messages/alerts and actions same. - Undertake network problem isolation and determination and initiate corrective action. - Implement and/or approve network bypass/recovery/backup procedures as required. - Perform proactive investigation and resolution of event related triggers within the environment. - Undertake operation and maintenance support for AWS cloud resources, including launching, maintaining, and troubleshooting EC2 instances, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC), Elastic Load Balancers (ELB), Relational Database Services (RDS) and S3 buckets. - Configure AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Data Base subnet group for isolation of resources within AWS RDS. - Design Cloud Formation Templates in AWS for creating stacks based on different environments. - Migrate existing code to CI/CD Pipeline via terraform to Jenkins and integrate the version control systems for automating the builds using Jenkins. - Utilize Terraform key features such as infrastructure as a code, execution plans, writing modules, change automation and auto scaling launch configuration templates for launching AWS EC2 instances. - Create branches, performed merges in version control systems Bitbucket. - Support Change Control review and preparation within the operations team. - Perform testing and maintenance activities of the network, as required. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, AWS Engineer, or a related position involving operation and maintenance support for AWS cloud resources. - Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the specified fields and 5 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. - Must have at least 3 years of experience with: - Undertake operation and maintenance support for AWS cloud resources, including launching, maintaining, and troubleshooting EC2 instances, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC), Elastic Load Balancers (ELB), Relational Database Services (RDS) and S3 buckets. - Configure AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Data Base subnet group for isolation of resources within AWS RDS. - Design Cloud Formation Templates in AWS for creating stacks based on different environments and write shell scripts to create AWS resources in different environments. - Work with automation engine Ansible to automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, application deployment and intra-service orchestration. - Create branches, performing merges in version control systems Bitbucket. - Use cloudwatch as a monitoring tool for monitoring various logs and metrics and JIRA to track bugs and manage the products. Requirements - Automate configuration management and deployments using Ansible playbooks written in YAML. - Create playbooks to provision Web servers like Tomcat and other applications. - Integrate version control systems for automating the builds using Jenkins. - Create Jenkins Pipelines for automation using Groovy Script and used SonarQube for code coverage. - Configure GitHub with Jenkins and schedule jobs using Poll SCM and Web hooks. - Resolve different merge conflicts in Git and performed code merges. - Work with Maven as a build tool for packaging and deploying different artifacts across various environments. - Work with Containerization technologies like Docker for testing purposes.
