Role Description The Account Executive, Pharmacy Solutions, is an internally and externally facing position responsible for the sales and prospecting activity for experience-rated and self-funded medical and Rx groups. This includes: - Acting as a strategic advisor to support clients in decision-making regarding benefit design, financial impacts, member experience, and industry trends. - Providing subject matter expert support to the Sales team, brokers, and employer groups on pharmacy issues, prescribing trends, and clinical developments. - Maintaining positive working relationships with plan medical directors and sales leadership. Essential Accountabilities include: - Responsible for sales activities including prospecting, retention, and cross-selling of ancillary lines. - Establishing and maintaining positive business relationships with clients, brokers, and internal department contacts. - Providing account training, benefit consulting, and guidance on account benefit plans. - Maintaining prospect history and submitting reports to management on customer needs and competitive activities. - Maintaining and drawing insights from the new sales pipeline. - Entering new business quotes and suggesting rate strategies based on past history. - Supporting the development and promotion of innovative revenue-driving Rx programs. - Performing open enrollment duties as required. - Evaluating benefits packages of competitive carriers and their sales strategies. - Coordinating the implementation of employer profiling processes relating to prescribing patterns. - Providing consultation on strategies to reduce pharmaceutical benefit expenses. - Managing specific clinical initiatives through roll-out via various teams. - Facilitating employer input into FLRx issues and strategies. - Collaborating with internal SMEs on Request for Proposals. - Attending Annual Utilization Reviews and broker meetings. - Documenting visits, activities, and results as required. - Supporting the development and implementation of Rx clinical outreach programs. - Directing projects and communications-related activities from recommendation through post-implementation review. - Maintaining high standards of integrity and member privacy. - Performing other functions as assigned by management. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on clinical or sciences, or nine or more years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. - Master’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, Nursing, or another relevant field preferred. - Valid NYS Accident and Health License required within six months of employment. - Highly motivated and target-driven with two or more years of experience in direct sales. - Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management. - Strong business acumen with the ability to explain financial aspects to clients. - Fundamental knowledge of pharmacy trends and legal issues. - Strong presentation skills required. - Superior project management skills required. - Capable of working independently with strong leadership skills. - Proficient at data analysis and interpretation. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain composure in high-stress situations. - Willingness to remain current on Pharmacy Management. - PC mastery in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Requirements - Normal office environment with frequent work outside of normal business hours. - Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation. - Frequent travel required throughout New York State. Compensation Range(s) Minimum: $79,068 - Maximum: $142,322. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including budget, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education.
