Senior Architect, Software Engineering
DEPT®
Role Description DEPT® is seeking a Commerce Architect to anchor Adobe Commerce delivery within our Commerce practice in North America. You are the technical authority for Adobe Commerce (Magento) — defining the architecture, driving execution, and ensuring our commerce solutions are scalable, secure, and performant. You lead technical discovery and pre-sales solutioning, architect enterprise-grade implementations, and advise clients throughout the project lifecycle, translating complex business needs into elegant commerce architecture. You partner closely with our Content and Data & Martech teams so that Adobe Commerce, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) come together into a coherent customer experience. What You'll Do - Own Adobe Commerce Architecture: Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Adobe Commerce projects — ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and performant — and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and integration specifications. - Define Standards and Lead Reviews: Define and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding patterns for the Adobe Commerce platform; lead technical design reviews and mentor development teams to the architectural vision. - Lead Pre-Sales and Solutioning: Act as the lead technical expert during the sales process — running technical discovery, architecting viable solutions, developing technical proposals, Statements of Work, and level-of-effort estimates, and presenting confidently to client stakeholders including C-level executives. - Integrate the Commerce Ecosystem: Architect integrations across ERP (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), PIM, OMS, CRM, and payment gateways, and connect Adobe Commerce to content (AEM) and personalization and data (AEP). - Advise and Solve: Serve as a trusted technical advisor on performance, security, scalability, migrations, and total cost of ownership across new and existing Adobe Commerce implementations. Qualifications - Adobe Commerce Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento), with at least 4 years in a Solution Architect or Lead Developer role, and deep expertise in both Adobe Commerce Cloud and on-premise versions. - Architectural Mastery: A proven track record of designing and delivering complex, large-scale eCommerce solutions. - Pre-Sales Experience: Demonstrable experience in a pre-sales or solution-engineering capacity, including estimating effort and writing technical proposals. - Technical Acumen: Expert-level knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Varnish, Redis, and the core Adobe Commerce framework, and proficiency with modern DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure). - eCommerce Ecosystem: Strong understanding of the broader commerce ecosystem, including integrations with ERP, PIM, OMS, CRM, and payment gateways. - Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility with clients. - Nice to have: Adobe Certified Master – Adobe Commerce Architect; experience with headless and composable commerce (GraphQL, PWA Studio); familiarity with other Adobe products such as AEM, Adobe Analytics, or AEP; and a background in a digital agency or technology consultancy. Benefits - Healthcare, Dental, and Vision coverage - 401k plan, plus matching - PTO - Paid Company Holidays - Parental Leave Company Description DEPT® is a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, our 4,000+ specialists deliver growth invention across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. Role Description Intetics Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. About the project: - Building a neutral, AI-powered logistics infrastructure platform (ZYYDER MESH) connecting shippers and carriers directly. - Covering quoting, booking, routing, tracking, invoicing, CO₂ reporting, and embedded financial services. - Engineers will join the core team building the platform's backbone: an event-driven, domain-driven backend with a Next.js frontend. - This is not a "write code from a ticket" role; development is AI-driven. - Engineers write tests and own architecture decisions; AI handles code generation in between, with the engineer as the human-in-the-loop reviewer. Architecture & design patterns: - Domain-Driven Design (DDD) — bounded contexts, aggregates, aggregate roots, value objects, domain events, ubiquitous language. - Hexagonal architecture (ports & adapters). - CQRS (command/query responsibility segregation). - Saga pattern (distributed transaction coordination). - Outbox pattern (reliable event delivery). - Event sourcing and eventual consistency at scale. - Designing for high throughput, strong and eventual consistency. Backend: - Java (core language). - Kafka (event streaming). - PostgreSQL. - Redis. - Blob storage / S3. - Parquet, Delta files. - Serialization: Protobuf, Avro, JSON. - gRPC, REST. - CDC (Change Data Capture) via Debezium. Frontend: - Next.js (backend-for-frontend pattern). - JavaScript, TypeScript. - MUI (Material UI). - Figma (design handoff). - REST, JSON, Protobuf, gRPC integration from the frontend. - PostgreSQL (read-side familiarity). What we're explicitly NOT looking for: - Engineers who know the tech stack but have never applied DDD/CQRS/Saga/Hexagonal patterns in production. - Candidates needing onboarding time to learn these concepts — there isn't time before the September start. - Pure backend or pure frontend specialists without full-stack range across this stack. Company Description Intetics Inc. is a global technology company providing custom software application development, distributed professional teams, software product quality assessment, and “all-things-digital” solutions.
