The Solutions Architect, Senior will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices, acting as a technical advisor, to provide leadership and guidance in the planning and coordination of design, development and implementation of our mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities: “To simplify complexities for each customer.” - Provide architecture leadership and Appian expertise while collaboratively working with stakeholders in all areas of the business and IT, aligning Appian solutions to support company objectives. - Continually facilitate and assist with efforts to define Appian-centric enterprise solutions. - Acts as the design authority for Appian-based solutions, guiding solution architecture and design decisions across business-critical applications. - Ensure effective governance of defined industry, company, and Appian-specific standards and patterns. - Demonstrate and build prototypes, create reference architectures, and design effective solutions that leverage the Appian platform. - Continually stay abreast on LCAP trends and lead the research and development efforts accordingly through proof-of-concept implementations, workshops, etc. - Provide guidance, coaching, architectural assessments, and Appian mentorship for various IT teams and initiatives. - Create prototypes and design innovative and effective Appian-based solutions that align with organization’s objectives and maintain competitive market advantage. - Collaborate with peers and various IT groups in continuously creating, assessing and updating LCAP standards, guidelines and best practices. - Champion product design, solution design and industry best practices in building and delivering best in class software. - Effectively communicate using written, oral, non-verbal, and active listening skills. Qualifications/Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree preferably in a computer science/engineering related field plus 8-10 years of related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experienced in leading and implementing the design and delivery of complex Appian-based solutions, including case management, integrations, and data-centric applications. Experience in Healthcare and Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation industry is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven experience working with project teams in an influential role to deliver Appian-centric solution architecture based on business requirements, technology standards, service level agreements and approved funding. Must have experience in identifying and implementing sound design patterns and capable of leading and facilitating design and modeling workshops with both business and technical team members. Required background with strong hands-on expertise incorporating Appian while building and deploying distributed applications. Must have excellent knowledge and experience with database and infrastructure design and best practices. Demonstrated a set of skills that include but not limited to: - Strong leadership, vision, effective communication and goal-oriented - Emotional maturity in guiding and influencing challenging team and development environments - Political awareness and skill to drive change Relevant experience with modern Event Driven Architecture, Continuous Integration/Delivery, NoSQL, APIs and Microservices.
