Software Quality Assurance Engineer

• Design and execute manual test cases for functional, exploratory, regression, and integration testing. • Review user stories and acceptance criteria to design and document manual test cases. • Execute sanity, smoke, and regression tests across designated functional areas. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile ceremonies to define test strategies and acceptance criteria. • Review user stories for testability and provide feedback to improve quality early in the development cycle. • Log and track defects using tools like Jira or TFS. • Support UAT and production deployments. • Create and maintain test documentation and metrics. • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure smooth CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps. • Share QA best practices and knowledge with team members when needed. • Contribute to light automation tasks and explore opportunities to improve test efficiency. • Stay current with QA trends, tools, and techniques.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual/functional testing.
- At least 3 years minimum of minimum experience hands-on in software quality assurance in automation testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and QA best practices.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL (CRUD operations, joins).
- Exposure to automation frameworks or scripting (e.g., Playwright).
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman, SOAP UI).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to and understanding of advanced Generative AI systems (like LLMs, multimodal models, RAG architectures, vector databases, and/or model fine‑tuning).
- Basic understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Experience with mobile app testing.
- ISTQB or CAST certification.
- Experience in the educational industry or in AI development of products/platforms.
- Stay up to date with QA trends and tools, including generative AI applications for testing.
