Job Description

Control & Protection Design Engineer

GE Vernova Inc

• Ensure design reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, protection standard, and regulations • Collaborate with other engineers and support for project documentation and continuous improvement initiatives • Design and integrate control systems, protection systems, electrical distribution, telecom & monitoring of a High Voltage substation • Deliver single line diagram, schematic diagram, protection system, electrical consumption and design of auxiliary services, interlocking, communication & network • Lead and support the team in charge of designing the Control system and protection system

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college from Electrical Engineer or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in related activity/discipline in project & EPC type environment in T&D, STATCOM, HV substations
  • Up to 20% travel within MEA & Europe along with other countries/regions for short or medium period based on requirement
  • Strong oral and written in English
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with SEC in KSA
  • Experience in Synchro Condensers in HV substations is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide technical support to customers and project teams
  • Initiate & support the procurement of equipment
  • Compliance with Quality processes and procedures and GE policies and procedures
  • Experience in technical problem solving
  • Discipline Design reviews & Gate reviews plan formalized and followed, to ensure the integration into the overall substation design
  • ROR integrates design part and Mitigation plan formalized and actions status identified (not started, ongoing, closed.)
  • Discipline provisional document list prepared and aligned with project time Schedule with achievable task duration
  • Full set KPI’s followed on monthly base
  • Design management tools strictly followed, and submission of coherent data
  • Design change process in place
  • Manage engineering subcontractors on specific work packages
  • Oversee the commissioning and testing of Low voltage systems
