Region Merchandising Manager

• Execute the localized assortment priorities as established for the fiscal year. • Assign stores to clustered assortments. • Communicate assortment concerns based on assortment review and competitive review. • Pre-plan and organize for annual events (hurricane, tornado, floods, and fire); coordinate response and product flow during event. • Reinforce and communicate merchandising strategy to the store operations leadership team. • Act as a local resource for feedback back to the corporate merchandising team on current trends and information in the competitive marketplace.

Job Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Experience supporting multiple units across a wide geography, preferably in a large format retailer.
  • Experience in merchandising or buying roles in a retail organization.
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

• Communicate customer sales related information between plants and retail stores. • Work with plants on specific plans and reporting that benefit their sales areas. • Visit stores to determine execution levels on programs. • Report on sales to plants, upcoming display information, and upcoming store and bread rack reset information. • Meet with retail store management to discuss previous period results and look ahead at current and upcoming periods. • Prepare/Collect proper DSD forms for price changes, promotions, new items, etc. • Distribute newly published price sheets to plants for HHC pricing accuracy. • Spend time in the market with a Key Accounts Director from one or more of the plants. • Meet with DSD department to confirm pricing on upcoming features. • Prepare a feature confirmation report for all upcoming period features in retail stores. • Contact category manager to discuss opportunities relating to our business. • Prepare promotional sales planner for retail stores for the purpose of giving them an advance review of our anticipated features. • Contact regional SVP for discussion on sales plans for future promotions and specific events relative to business with retail stores. • Attend meetings with National Accounts teams. • Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.) • Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
