Role Description NetOps Africa is recruiting for a senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Engineer to support a US based client that provides advanced Level 3 technical support and cloud engineering services to MSPs and their customers. This is a senior, customer-facing technical role. The right person will be comfortable stepping into different MSP and client environments, asking good questions, troubleshooting complex issues, and owning problems through to resolution. This role is not suited for someone who only wants internal support work or who needs a fully documented environment before they can move forward. The ideal candidate is technically strong, resourceful, calm under pressure, and able to communicate clearly with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end customers. Qualifications - Senior level experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments in production. - Strong hands on experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. - Proven experience with tenant to tenant Microsoft 365 migrations. - Experience with server to cloud migrations, especially file server to SharePoint or OneDrive. - Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, SSO, hybrid identity, and Conditional Access. - Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, compliance policies, configuration profiles, app deployment, and Autopilot. - Experience with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft 365 security best practices. - Experience with Microsoft Purview, retention, compliance, and DLP is strongly preferred. - Strong PowerShell scripting experience for Microsoft 365 administration and automation. - Experience working in or with MSP environments. - Ability to support multiple client environments with different standards, tools, and levels of documentation. - Strong written and spoken English. - Comfortable communicating directly with clients, MSP partners, technical teams, and business stakeholders. Requirements - Act as a senior escalation point for complex Microsoft 365, cloud, and SaaS related issues. - Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues across Microsoft 365 environments. - Perform root cause analysis on recurring or complex technical problems. - Work directly with MSP partners and end customers to understand issues, explain solutions, and implement fixes. - Review existing Microsoft 365 tenant configurations and recommend improvements. - Support, administer, and optimize Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. - Troubleshoot Exchange Online mail flow, message security, migrations, permissions, and advanced configuration issues. - Support SharePoint Online and OneDrive architecture, permissions, governance, performance, and migration work. - Support Microsoft Teams policies, governance, meeting issues, and voice related troubleshooting where applicable. - Advise on Microsoft 365 licensing, feature adoption, configuration, and best practices. - Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Entra ID, including identity lifecycle, SSO, MFA, and hybrid identity. - Design, review, test, and troubleshoot Conditional Access policies. - Support Microsoft Intune, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, app deployment, device enrollment, and Autopilot. - Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, and Defender for Identity. - Support Microsoft Purview, including retention, compliance, data governance, and DLP where applicable. - Implement and maintain Microsoft 365 security baselines and best practices. - Plan and lead tenant to tenant migrations involving Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. - Lead server to cloud migration projects, such as moving on premises file server data to SharePoint or OneDrive. - Support Microsoft 365 optimization projects across multiple client environments. - Help standardize and improve cloud environments for MSP partners and their customers. - Troubleshoot third party tools and platforms that integrate with Microsoft 365. - Investigate authentication, permissions, data flow, and integration issues between Microsoft 365 and other business applications. - Work with software vendors, MSP partners, and internal teams to resolve integration issues. - Learn unfamiliar applications quickly and understand how they interact with Microsoft 365. - Build and maintain PowerShell scripts for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related administrative tasks. - Use vendor documentation, AI search tools, and technical research effectively when working through unfamiliar issues. - Document troubleshooting steps, project work, configuration changes, and long term recommendations. - Share technical knowledge with internal teams and MSP partners where appropriate.
