Position Summary The Head of Instructional Programming provides agency and statewide leadership on services related to primary source literacy and research instruction for academic faculty, students, librarians, and lifelong learners. This role serves as a strategic thought partner to the Chief Learning Officer on the growth and impact of the WHS research instruction program across the state and Great Lakes region. They lead WHS as an expert on instructional philosophy and practice, develop curricular materials, and coordinate programming for multiple audiences. The position independently implements professional duties and administers projects related to primary source literacy and research instruction. This position promotes and coordinates instruction services in collaboration with librarians, archivists and other Society colleagues, as well as academic faculty, students and teachers. The incumbent is part of the UW-Madison Libraries network and as such provides library liaison services to the University of Wisconsin-Madison history department and the wider campus community. Salary Information The salary will be between $35.00 - $40.00 per hour plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay provisions found in the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 13, range 02. The classification for is Education Consultant. A 12-month probationary period will be required.
