Job Description

Field Service Technician

Standard Bots

• Provide on-site technical support for customers including diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and optimization of Standard Bots robots • Perform installations, commissioning, and system integration at customer facilities • Conduct preventive maintenance visits and safety inspections to ensure optimal robot performance • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues both on-site and remotely • Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and video conferencing when on-site visits are not required • Train customers on robot operation, programming, and basic troubleshooting procedures • Document all service activities — including ticket notes, parts usage, and resolution details — in our CRM system • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure proper tools and equipment are available for service calls • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and contribute feedback for product improvements • Achieve field service KPIs for ticket resolution and first-time fix rates

Job Requirements

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in robotics, industrial automation, or electromechanical systems
  • Associate degree or higher in a technical field, engineering, mechatronics, or related discipline
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with proven field service experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel extensively (60–80% field time)
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and multimeters
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various manufacturing environments
  • Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities
  • Able to systematically analyze problems within defined procedures and best practices to achieve appropriate resolution
