Role Description The Account Manager will be responsible for developing new customer relations in pursuit of expanding business, focusing on custom rotomolded products. They will also be responsible for supporting new products’ development efforts and communicating with customers once production has started, to ensure that we are continually meeting their requirements. They are a liaison between the plants and customers and ensure effective flow of accurate information. This individual must reside in the Indiana area but could work remotely and travel within the assigned territory. Duties and Responsibilities - Use all methods to contact and discuss possible new project opportunities. - Achieve Monthly sales goals related to the current year sales budget. - Maintain customer information, contact data and ongoing communication in Salesforce. - Develop leads to prospect and follow-up to convert. - Develop new relationships to meet established sales goals. - A good amount of time will be spent cold calling. - Build and maintain relationships with all current customers regarding production, quality and delivery. - Prepare and maintain records for sales leads and progress status of accounts in Salesforce. - Work with purchasing to resolve issues with components and lead times. - Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing. - Work with Customer Service to ensure customer needs are met. - Create quotes and negotiate contracts with existing and potential accounts. - Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to develop new products and ensure they meet customer requirements. - Work with Quality, Engineering and Production to properly address customer issues and returns. - Attend sales meetings and industry trade shows. - Complete all paperwork accurately and timely. Salesforce to be updated daily with customer updates. - Communicate effectively with co-workers, leadership and other departments. - Provide monthly customer forecasting and coordinate with the Supply Chain. - Develop and maintain thought leadership on new application developments, technologies and competition. - Work closely with and/or lead cross-functional project teams both inside and outside Myers to develop win-win solutions and ensure operational timing and excellence. - Ability to manage multiple priorities from a diverse customer base. - Actively learn and display knowledge of roto molding, thermoforming and blow molding technologies and how they can address customer needs. Qualifications - Excellent computer skills, especially Excel, Salesforce and ERP systems. - Excellent communication skills. - Strong general accounting background. - Strong attention to detail. - Problem solving abilities. - Strong teamwork and partnership with plant and cross-functional partners. - Ability to build strong internal and external relationships. - Dependability, including ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner. - Experience and enthusiasm driving the entire sales cycle from identification of leads, initial contact and conversion to account management. - Valid driver’s license required. Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, engineering or related field. - Plastics manufacturing preferred. - 2-3 years' experience in developing relationships. Working Conditions - Working conditions are normal for an office environment. - Work requires some overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work. - Travel required 30%.
