Liquid Development

• Artistic Lighting: Crafting, placing, and tweaking light sources to achieve the desired mood, tone, and atmosphere across a variety of environmental archetypes. • Technical Implementation: Setting up lighting rigs, managing light bakes, optimizing for performance, and handling volumetric lighting. • Collaboration: Working with level designers and environmental artists to guide players and highlight key areas, ensuring visual consistency. • Self-Management: The ability to identify your own project needs and effectively communicate those needs to your lead and managers. • Post-Processing: Applying color grading, bloom, and other screen-space effects to enhance the final look. • Performance Optimization: Ensuring high visual quality within the technical constraints of the target hardware.

Job Requirements

  • A strong portfolio/demo reel with recent work showcasing proficiency in lighting for video games (must submit to be considered)
  • 2+ years of professional experience working as a Lighting Artist in the video game industry
  • Bonus Points!
  • Proprietary Engine Experience: Knowledge of lighting pipelines outside of Unreal Engine and Unity. (example: Frostbite)
  • Experience with Maya, Houdini and Unreal Engine

Title:Compositing Artist Location: Montreal QC CA Job Description: As a Compositing Artist, you will play a crucial role in bringing our animated worlds to life. The compositing artist is responsible for integrating 3D rendered assets, special effects, and other elements to create the final polished shots for our animated feature. This includes ensuring visual consistency, maintaining artistic intent, and resolving technical challenges to produce high-quality imagery. What you’ll be doing: - - Combine multiple layers of animation, visual effects, lighting passes, and background elements into a cohesive image. - Balance color, light, and depth to ensure visual consistency across shots and sequences. - Address technical issues such as edge inconsistencies, motion blur, and artifact cleanup. - Collaborate with departments like lighting, effects, and rendering to troubleshoot and resolve shot-specific challenges. - Use compositing software to add depth, atmosphere, and enhancements such as lens flares, color grading, and motion blur. - Apply creative adjustments to ensure the director’s vision is achieved in every shot. - Work closely with the Compositing Supervisor, and other team members to align on the creative direction and technical standards. - Provide feedback to upstream departments (e.g., modeling, lighting, FX) to improve workflow efficiency. - Organize and manage all compositing assets, including file naming conventions and ensuring proper archiving. - Maintain high standards for file organization and version control.
