Position Summary BridgeBio is building a dedicated Strategic Procurement function and we are looking for a Director to lead it. This is a build role: the Director will stand up the team, establish sourcing strategy and governance, and take ownership of procurement across BridgeBio's non-clinical spend categories — IT, Travel & Expense (T&E), Sales & Marketing (S&M), and G&A. The Director will own the full, end-to-end procurement lifecycle: defining category strategy; running competitive sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ) and leading contract negotiations; implementing contract lifecycle management; and building a supplier performance management program with KPI tracking and business reviews. Reporting to the Executive Director, FP&A, the Director will be accountable for delivering measurable savings against an approximately $500M annual addressable spend base, and for building the team, processes, and infrastructure needed to sustain that performance over time. Key Responsibilities Organizational Build-Out & Team Leadership - Stand up and lead the Strategic Procurement team, including direct management of a Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing and two Buyer (contractor) resources. - Recruit, onboard, and develop procurement talent as the function scales; define roles, workflows, and performance expectations for the team. Vendor & Contract Management - Lead RFP processes, vendor negotiations, and contract structuring across in-scope categories. - Establish ongoing vendor performance management and contract renewal governance. Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner closely with Finance, IT, Sales & Marketing, G&A, and Legal stakeholders to align sourcing strategy with business needs. - Act as the primary point of contact for procurement matters with the Executive Director, FP&A and other senior stakeholders. Process, Governance & Reporting - Establish procurement policies, approval workflows, and procure-to-pay processes for a newly formed function. - Build dashboards and reporting to track savings, spend under management, and team performance; present results to Finance leadership. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. - 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, including experience leading a team; biotech, pharma, or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred. - Demonstrated experience building or scaling a procurement function, ideally in a growth-stage or resource-conscious environment. - Category expertise across some combination of IT, corporate travel, marketing/agency spend, and G&A services. - Track record of delivering measurable, validated cost savings. - Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills. - Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills, given regular visibility with senior Finance leadership. - Analytical and comfortable operating with limited infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. Success Metrics - Procurement team built out and operating to plan. - 2–4%+ annual savings delivered against addressable spend ($5M–$10M). - 5x–10x return on total team investment. - Sourcing governance, contract management, and reporting processes established across all four in-scope categories.
