Full Stack Engineer
Reveal Technology
• Architect & Scale Full-Stack Services: Design, build, and maintain high performance APIs using Ruby on Rails and robust frontends using React. Ensure exceptional reliability, maintainability, and response times for web, desktop, and mobile clients operating in challenging environments. • Database Engineering: Own the data architecture by driving advanced PostgreSQL data modeling, complex schema migrations, query optimization, and indexing strategies to safely operate production databases at scale. • Modernize Infrastructure & DevOps: Manage and scale containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes, while leveraging Terraform to provision infrastructure as code. Continuously harden and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines to boost developer velocity and system stability. • Drive System Security & Cryptography: Implement zero trust security models, robust authentication/authorization controls, and secure data at rest/in transit encryption strategies. Help design and support PKI certificate lifecycles and mTLS configurations for secure device communication. • Elevate Engineering Excellence: Foster a culture of high craftsmanship by delivering production ready, thoroughly tested pull requests. Participate heavily in proactive "shift-left" technical design reviews before writing code, and provide rigorous, constructive peer code reviews to protect branch integrity. • Support Cross Functional Missions: Collaborate across teams and partner directly with our business development and mission success teams to troubleshoot complex technical escalations, ensuring our users' critical field operations remain unblocked.
Job Requirements
- 5+ Years of Professional Full-Stack Experience: Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining production grade applications at scale.
- Expert Backend & Database Architecture: Deep expertise in Ruby (including Rails or similar frameworks) and SQL. Designing scalable services, data modeling, complex schema migrations, and optimizing low performing queries.
- Advanced React Architecture: Deep proficiency in building clean, modular component hierarchies using modern React, managing complex application state, and optimizing frontend performance for high concurrency apps.
- Production PostgreSQL at Scale: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, advanced indexing strategies, query execution plans, transaction management, and performance tuning.
- DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: Strong hands on experience using Docker and Kubernetes to containerize applications and manage orchestration, alongside Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code. You are comfortable owning CI/CD pipelines and ensuring your full-stack applications safely build, scale, and deploy to production environments.
- Asynchronous Autonomy & Execution: Proven ability to manage your own productivity and maintain high feature velocity in a fully remote, asynchronous environment. You are a proactive communicator who unblocks yourself by raising questions early, collaborating on designs before writing code, and providing clear visibility into ticket progress.

Role Description As a Frontend Engineer at CoverForce, you will design and implement the core front-end web application of the CoverForce platform — onboarding flows, authentication, and the quote/bind/pay experience, including complex, dynamic forms across multiple insurance carriers. You will build core libraries and components that power different web applications depending on customer type (business vs. consumer), and you'll help shape decisions on API structure, front-end architecture, and UI/UX as we scale a complex front-end system. This role is a perfect fit for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments looking to build a product from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to take ownership and wear many hats as you develop the product. As an early engineer, you'll impact product development, system architecture, engineering culture, and more. You will work across the stack building out our centralized API and the front-end portal. We use ReactJS, Ant Design, NodeJS, NestJS, MongoDB, Docker, and JavaScript/TypeScript on AWS. Our product was inspired by talking with hundreds of agents and identifying the critical pain points in the quote, bind, and payment process. We see our solution scaling to independent agencies, agency management systems, and corporate customers. - Develop core UI components and libraries — identify and build re-usable components that are configurable across multiple front-end experiences. - Design, recommend, and implement UI/UX best practices — research and apply patterns like responsive design and performance optimization. - Identify and drive AI-based improvements — bring AI-assisted tooling and workflows into the front-end codebase and development process to boost velocity and quality. - Proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality, stability, and scalability of our systems. - Conduct code reviews and provide helpful feedback that maintains our high code quality. - Collaborate cross-functionally to solve business problems and support our rapid growth. Qualifications - Strong ownership mentality — you take initiative, see projects through from start to finish, and treat the codebase and product as if you built the company yourself. - Exceptional communication skills — you can clearly articulate technical problems, propose solutions, and collaborate effectively across teams. You understand that in a startup, clear proactive communication is as important as clean code. - Intellectual curiosity and learning agility — you're excited to dive into unfamiliar territory, whether it's insurance domain knowledge, a new carrier's API, or an emerging technology. You ask questions, seek to understand the "why," and continuously expand your skill set. - Comfort with ambiguity — you thrive in environments where requirements evolve, and you can navigate complex systems that require deep domain context. - Pragmatic approach to AI tooling — you actively leverage and experiment with the latest AI development tools (like Cursor, Claude, Codex) to accelerate your work and aren't afraid to build on top of LLM APIs to solve business problems. - Quality-focused craftsmanship — you take pride in writing clean, maintainable code and understand that good testing empowers rather than burdens the team. - 3+ years of production software development experience, with proven work in frontend systems (ReactJS, RESTful APIs, mono-repo) and production experience with NestJS. Requirements - Previous startup experience and understanding of the rapid pace and evolving priorities (nice to have, but not essential). - Production experience with our tech stack: ReactJS, Ant Design, NestJS, TypeScript (nice to have, but not essential). Benefits - Quarterly virtual events to connect with your team members while celebrating our success and accomplishments. - Clear norms and etiquette around virtual meetings. - Team building activities every month to let off steam and relax. - Competitive compensation packages.
