We're looking for someone with a fresh vision for how creative teams operate - someone who embraces AI as a force multiplier and can rethink traditional design processes while building the systems and team needed to support rapid growth. Success in this role requires exceptional cross-functional leadership and close partnership with Product Marketing, Growth, Partnerships, and other marketing stakeholders. You'll align creative strategy with business priorities, empower your team to do their best work, and establish scalable processes that elevate creative quality while supporting the company's next stage of growth. What You’ll Do - Build, lead, and grow a high-performing, distributed team of designers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development. - Set the creative vision for AfterShip's brand system, partnering closely with the VP, Marketing to evolve our identity as the company grows. - Own creative direction across every marketing surface—including paid campaigns, product launches, sales enablement, lifecycle marketing, social, email, and AfterShip.com—ensuring consistently high creative standards. - Build and scale an AI-powered creative production engine that combines cloud-based workflows, automation, and design systems to enable high-volume, high-quality creative output. - Create systems that empower non-designers to self-serve routine creative needs, allowing your team to focus on high-impact strategic work. - Lead creative planning and prioritization across Product Marketing, Growth, Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the highest-impact work ships quickly. - Manage external freelancers and creative agencies, providing clear direction, maintaining quality standards, and scaling capacity when needed. - Continuously improve creative operations, processes, and team effectiveness to help AfterShip scale efficiently. Qualifications - 3+ years of people management experience, with a proven track record of hiring, managing, coaching, and developing creative teams while fostering a high-performance culture. - Experience building or scaling a creative organization, including establishing processes, workflows, and quality standards that enable teams to produce exceptional work at scale. - Direct experience leading or contributing to a brand evolution or rebrand. You understand how to evolve a brand system across multiple channels while maintaining consistency and momentum. - Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth, Partnerships, Product, and other stakeholders to balance creative excellence with business objectives. - In-house B2B SaaS or DTC e-commerce experience preferred.
