Job Description

Senior Business Development Manager

Ameresco

• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities for turnkey energy solutions including energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed generation, microgrids, and performance contracting. • Develop and execute market and account plans to achieve annual sales and growth objectives. • Build and maintain advisory relationships with County Judges, Commissioners Courts, City Managers, CFOs, and executive stakeholders across public sector clients. • Lead proposal strategy and development, coordinating internally with engineering, finance, and development teams. • Prepare and deliver customer presentations and written proposals. • Represent Ameresco at executive forums, industry conferences, and public sector events to advance market presence and thought leadership. • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts in alignment with customer objectives and Ameresco standards. • Serve as primary customer contact during the sales process and support transition to project execution teams. • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking within CRM systems.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years progressive local experience marketing construction services, consulting services, energy efficiency, or renewable technology
  • Proven experience influencing and leading sales and project development teams in Texas
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sustainability, engineering, economics, finance, environmental science or business or Advanced Education (i.e., MS, MBA) preferred
  • Proven successful business development experience cultivating, developing, and securing customers and projects in South or Southwestern US.
  • Demonstrated sales track record, including executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value.
  • Superior financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, people and business relationships.
  • Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
  • Travel required.
