Role Description The Accountant performs primary accounting, bill payment/processing, financial support, and, as needed, administrative/clerical support for the Financial Manager and Property/Facility Managers. This position is expected to work closely with a Financial Manager and is responsible for maintaining and updating financial records using databases, spreadsheets, and accounting systems that track expenditures, revenue, receipts, cash flow, and other financial activities. - Perform Full Cycle Accounting to include analysis of accounts or accounting transactions. - Prepare and assist with cash management, AP and AR, Accruals and reconciliations. - Prioritize and maintain organization of a high-volume workload. - Prepare financial reporting packages timely and accurately in accordance with internal controls and client requirements. - Research and analyze using data management tools and spreadsheets. - Effectively communicate accounting issues and escalate appropriately. - Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, operation teams, and corporate stakeholders in a timely manner. - Apply appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions, and reporting. - Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company and bring inconsistencies, problems, and recommendations to the attention of management. - Comply and assist with internal and external audits by providing appropriate documentation and information as requested. - Perform other related duties as required or requested. Qualifications - College degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. - Requires one to three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience with Yardi or other real estate accounting software preferred. - Strong Excel and data analytic skills required. Role Description The Senior Accountant for the Servicing Division performs general accounting functions and various analyses using GAAP procedures that involve general ledger, balance sheet, income statement accounts, ledger reconciliation, preparation of data for journal entries, and financial statements. What you'll do: - Perform daily bank reconciliations and record bank activities in general ledger. - Prepare monthly journal entries and detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, including account receivable, prepaids, accruals and other liability accounts. - Responsible for internal and external wire transfers. - Review, analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for fluctuation at month end close to ensure results are in accordance with US GAAP. - Assist with quarterly and year-end audits. - Maintain financial security by following internal controls and established company policies. - Interact with other departments as necessary to resolve issues. Qualifications - BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent practical experience. - Three (3) to five (5) years of general accounting/finance experience required. - Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Oracle ERP accounting software preferred. - Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively. - Must work PST zone hours.
