Role Description The Regional Director, Financial Planning is a highly motivated professional with experience in building, managing and leading teams of financial planners. This individual will work closely with their team, coaching them and creating an environment that supports superior client experience, resulting in helping more clients achieve their financial and life goals. Responsibilities: - Lead a territory of approximately 30 Planners who are in place to drive client acquisition, retention and net new asset flows for the Wealth Planning Group. - Mentor, develop and support Planners to drive success throughout the sales funnel, expanded client value through our wealth services and lead their practices. - Drive priorities and areas of focus and provide timely and accurate feedback to Divisional Vice President and other senior management on Planner performance. - Create and enhance a high-engagement culture that supports success, morale, and performance of Planners within the assigned territory. - Partner effectively across the organization to help drive an outstanding client experience, while also managing risk and adhering to corporate policies and procedures. - Assist in the development/implementation of marketing and proactive lead-generation plans and the creation and delivery of training. - Partner with Planners to establish personal and professional goals to meet company goals. - Regular presentation of progress reports, reporting on key achievements and identifying sales obstacles. Qualifications - 5-10 years in financial services sales management covering a team across a distributed, multi-state territory. - 5+ years direct experience leading a workforce of 10+ individuals including responsibility for hiring, termination, and performance management. - Confirmed ability to lead and empower sales staff. - Deep understanding of financial services, comprehensive financial planning and RIAs. - Demonstrated success in managing the client engagement process; incorporating metrics and feedback to improve results. - Experience with contact management systems, including system-created reports on prospect activity and pipeline, in addition to viewing client history. - Demonstrated success in building and sustaining a high-performance culture across practices, tailoring engagement strategies to align with varied goals, growth stages, and practice-specific objectives. - Ability to foster a strong, cohesive culture among financial planners and drive engagement and cultural alignment across practices. Requirements - Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The anticipated total target cash range for this role is $379,000-$447,000, comprised of base salary and bonus. - Your bonus potential is directly linked to your performance and success in growing sales and client relationships. - Final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. - This role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
