Key Responsibilities - Participate in a cross-shore development team - Influence and collaborate to create amazing APIs - Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams - Passionate about the latest technologies, open-source projects, and languages - Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performance - Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with knowledge of application development using Java with 6 Months to 1 Year of Software Engineering Experience or in lieu of a degree 2 years of relevant experience. - Critical Thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills - 6 Months + of applied Java experience - Hands-on experience in Credit Card Acquisition platform with ample knowledge in credit card application processing and decisioning systems or similar. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peers - Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence Desired Characteristics - Experience in Front End UI development and Backend Java programming - Familiarity building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST - Familiarity with common Java frameworks like Spring and Spring Boot - Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, and Git - Familiarity with continuous integration environments - Familiarity writing unit and integration tests - Familiarity with JSON, REST, and XML based web services - Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers - Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization - Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence clients, team members, management, and external groups - Strong attention to detail in a team environment - Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze, use structured problem-solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact, and resolution options - Knowledge on AI Tools for Developers (Like GitHub Co-pilot, Rovo etc.), Development of AI Agents, Understanding of tools, skills, and Instruction markdown files etc. Eligibility Criteria - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with knowledge of application development using Java with 6 Months to 1 Year of Software Engineering Experience or in lieu of a degree 2 years of relevant experience. Work Timings 2PM to 11 PM IST. This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs. Our way of working allows you the option to work from home or workspaces in our Regional Engagement Hubs—Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, or Delhi/NCR. Occasionally you may be required to commute or travel to Hyderabad or one of the Regional Engagement Hubs for in-person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
