Role Description The Senior Solutions Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving technical customer solutions for Edged Data Centers' North American division. This position combines deep technical expertise with strategic client engagement to architect cutting-edge data center solutions. You'll serve as the technical cornerstone of our sales team, translating complex client requirements into innovative, sustainable data center designs. Working directly with industry-leading clients, you'll shape the future of sustainable data center infrastructure while reporting to the Director of Solutions Engineering. Key Responsibilities: - Engineering & Project Management: - Work directly with hyperscale and enterprise customers as primary technical point of contact performing customer-facing engineering functions in support of customer acquisition, project installation and custom construction solutions. - Lead site tours, technical calls and customer design reviews. - Primary technical lead for proposal generation and RFP responses. - Client Relationship Management: - Cultivate and expand strategic relationships with key technical decision-makers within customer organizations. - Understand clients' needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention. - Industry Trends and Emerging Technology: - Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to provide strategic insights, including but not limited to: - Advanced liquid cooling architectures and implementations. - Reference architectures for AI deployments. - Next-generation power solutions and renewable energy integration. - Innovation in sustainable data center practices. - Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients and internal teams to enhance product knowledge and technical skills. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work closely with sales, product development, engineering, construction and operations teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and company capabilities. - Provide feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement in product offerings and service delivery. - Reporting & Documentation: - Assist the sales team in developing and delivering compelling presentations, proposals, and demonstrations. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and market intelligence. Qualifications - Understanding of data center infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges, data center fit-out projects, equipment and technology advances and general industry trends. - Capable in determining electrical and mechanical data center solutions and leading technical conversations. - Understanding of the technical sales process and working with technical buyers and site selection teams for data center users. - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. - Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events. Requirements - Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering required. - Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on technical data center engineering experience, including: - Comprehensive understanding of data center development and construction processes. - Expert-level knowledge in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering systems. - Demonstrated success in building and maintaining customer relationships. - Strong application software skills including MS Office, Bluebeam and AutoCAD. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Proven self-starter with attention to detail. Board Solutions SME’s work together within all of the PSNA facilities to improve paper machine performance, reduce variability, improve quality and lower manufacturing costs. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) position is accountable for delivering results on a wide range of assignments, short and long-term, across our mill system. The SME must work well with varied teams and be able to quickly engage employees from all levels of the organization from executive to the shop floor, and influence vendors and contractors.
