The Product Owner operates as the product owner for Optum's Communication platform. The PO will be a member of the team responsible for creating innovative products in healthcare communication space. The successful PO has: - In depth knowledge of healthcare payments and industry trends - Analyzes data from KPIs - recommends product features, functions, and actions based on data and documented customer needs - Translates required capabilities into product requirements specifications and/or operational processes - Works with cross functional teams including product management, development, design, operations, marketing, sales and the business to drive successful outcomes - Prepares product documents and supports operations team with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise - Uses market and customer feedback to evaluate product functionality, establish deployment strategies, and recommend present/future product direction - Understands product performance metrics and articulates and prepares forecasts and risk assessments based on planned future activity You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Works as a product owner and manages product backlog for one or two development scrum teams in the area of digital communication - Gathers and analyzes key metric data to support key decision making between product leadership and Enterprise stakeholders. Recommend actions to achieve organizational value performance objectives - Influences the product backlog and crafting user stories and sign off on feature acceptance, all the while adhering to the agile process constituted for managing the project. This Product owner shall work closely with other product leaders and development teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design - Maintains an iterative deployment roadmap to delivering value and thought leadership to maximize product effectiveness. Connects business objective and product delivery to the KPIs of the organization and the value created - Works with matrix partners to translate required capabilities into concrete operational processes and measurement plans. Translates required capabilities into requirements for engineering teams - Validates requirements via pilots; Pro-actively identifies needs/priorities of audience and provides relevant information when sharing insights, including facts and explanation of decision-making criteria - Manages product/project deployment plans and impact to KPIs. Identifies potential issues with product builds and integrations, pro-actively develops mitigation plans; Assists in removing obstacles, resolves conflicts and ensures alignment with stakeholders - Defines and tracks key performance indications (KPIs) to measure the success of product, iterating based on data-driven insights - Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product differentiation You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience with Healthcare Communications - 2+ years of product owner experience - 2+ years of experience in development and communicating project plans and/or roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy - 2+ years of experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams - 2+ years of experience working with multiple teams/stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements - 2+ years of direct experience conducting process analysis, requirements definition, and use-case analysis and data analytics Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment and possess knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle - Experience performing competitive analysis and market research to stay on top of industry trends - Proven desire to challenge the status quo, and solid focus on the voice of the customer - Proven solid organization, documentation, change management and project management skills - Proven ability to work well within teams and the ability to influence peers, stakeholders and management - Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
