Role Description We currently have an exciting opportunity for Staff Accountant II - Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy to join the Tailored Brands Accounting team. The Staff Accountant II will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting Policy. This is a remote position. The Staff Accountant II will be responsible for assisting with key components of the external reporting process, including: - Preparation support, tie-outs, and documentation for SEC filings (including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and related disclosures) - Assisting with the quarterly earnings release - Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations - Contributing to internal reporting - Supporting technical accounting analysis, with exposure to areas such as equity and share-based compensation This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with FP&A, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting, while gaining hands-on experience in public company reporting, SEC compliance, and technical accounting as well as assisting with monthly internal management reporting. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, execution-focused, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven reporting environment. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - CPA or progress toward CPA preferred - 3+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting or public company experience preferred - Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements - Experience supporting financial statement preparation, SEC filings, and/or audit processes - Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Blackline, Workiva) - Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and completeness - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels - Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset - Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes in a fast-paced public company reporting environment - High level of professionalism, initiative, and work ethic Requirements - Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time - Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily - Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally - Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment - Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote office location Benefits - Health, dental and vision insurance - Prescription drug coverage - 401k - Life insurance - Accident and disability insurance - Paid time off for sick leave - Vacation (80 hours per year) - Bereavement leave - Jury duty leave - Holidays (9 days per year) - Wellbeing program - Commuter assistance - Adoption assistance - Legal services - Employee merchandise discounts Work-Life Balance - Summer Fridays | from Memorial Day to Labor Day so you can enjoy a head-start to the weekend - Holiday Early Departure | close out early the business day before a company observed holiday The starting salary for this position is $70,200 – $117,000 and may increase to $146,300 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
