Senior Systems Engineer
Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated
• Design, develop, and maintain the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of a data center • Provides architectural framework for servers, hardware, peripherals, and connections • Implement standards and guidelines • Ensure adequate capacity for corporate computing needs and identify capacity trends • Provides technical support, provisioning, and automation capabilities for compute resources utilizing multiple operating systems and hardware technologies across public and private cloud services • Performs reliability testing and plan disaster recovery procedures • Performs operating efficiency and stability duties, implements the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other issues • Provides regular status, operational, incident, and change reports
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience - Required
- 4+ years experience managing data center resources and managing virtual hosting platform - Required
- Strong ability to automate and maintain automation for core job functions - Required
- Skills in virtual platform management - Required
- Strong understanding of data center layout planning, networking, and life cycle management with experience installing, configuring, and automating multiple operating systems - Required
- Strong experience designing and implementing configuration management solutions across various operating systems and virtualization environments - Required
- Strong experience working with Unix, Linux, Windows, and container based systems - Required
- Strong experience of configuration management utilities (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Terraform) - Required
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Powershell, Bash) - Required
- Strong expertise planning and physically installing servers, including coordinating with network, storage, and third-party datacenter teams - Required
- Strong knowledge of trends in DevOps, micro-services, and automation orchestration - Required
- Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies including private cloud, public cloud, software defined infrastructure, and serverless architecture; domain and intranet management; understanding of multiple hardware vendors and technologies - Required
