Project Manager – Environmental Remediation
AECOM
• Oversee Federal environmental remediation projects • Work from the Chelmsford, Massachusetts or Providence, Rhode Island AECOM office • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management • Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects • Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices • Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance • Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager • Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team • Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work • Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Job Requirements
- BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Professional License (PE, PG) preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management preferred
- Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degree preferred
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations preferred
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy) preferred
- Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA preferred
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills preferred
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery preferred
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences preferred
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders preferred
- Interest in business development preferred
- Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects preferred
- Occasional overnight travel required
