Job Description
Corporate Controller
Appriss Retail
The Corporate Controller will own the accounting function end-to-end — close process, financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance — while serving as a key partner to the CFO in building a modern, AI-enabled finance organization. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a controller who wants to do more than maintain the status quo. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous cycle-time improvement. Lead and develop a team of 6 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and AI-forward thinking. Ensure compliance with US GAAP including ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease accounting, and equity/debt accounting under PE ownership. Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and the data governance framework connecting NetSuite and Salesforce. Own the external audit relationship and manage all audit deliverables. Lead and implement AI and automation initiatives within the accounting function — from close automation to reconciliation workflows — and build that capability within the team. Support the CFO on covenant compliance reporting, board-level financial reporting, and any M&A or transaction activity. Drive chart of accounts rationalization and systems optimization as part of the broader finance transformation agenda.
