People Ops Partner

Sardine

• Manage pre-joining and onboarding experience for new hires across US, Canada, and international locations, making sure new hires have a seamless transition • Oversee payroll for US and Canadian employees and global team, ensuring accurate, timely payments and tax compliance • Maintain people policies, labor law compliance, employee handbook, and notion workspace • Manage employee expenses and reimbursements via Ramp, ensuring timely processing and accurate tracking • Lead company events, town halls, and recognition programs that people actually look forward to • Ensure data integrity across HRIS, dashboard and other platforms for reporting and audits • Improve HR workflows, automations, and tools, cutting manual work as the team grows • Partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and the rest of the People team to keep HR processes compliant and scalable

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years in People Operations, HR, or relevant roles
  • Experience working in a high growth fast-paced environment with extreme ownership and adaptability
  • Experience with global payroll systems across US, Canada, and multiple international jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law, CRA coordination, and tax compliance
  • Hands-on experience managing onboarding for employees and contractors, ensuring smooth and compliant processes
  • Proficiency with HRIS and other tools such as Rippling, Deel, Ramp, Asana, Notion
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with employees and contractors across diverse cultures and locations. Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
