Job Description
Case Operations Coordinator
Political Asylum Lawyers
Role Description We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Case Operations Coordinator who excels at logistics and coordination and is passionate about advocating for people facing crisis. You’ll work from home. You’ll need a quiet space, fast internet, and the discipline to stay on task without close supervision. You will perform a wide range of coordination and administrative tasks to advance our mission of helping immigrants secure their future in the United States through asylum. Your primary focus will be managing the assignment of attorneys, both in-house and contractor, to asylum interviews and hearings, as well as scheduling the preparation sessions attorneys hold with clients. To do this job, you must be extremely organized and detail-oriented. You must be comfortable picking up the phone to call clients and attorneys to help coordinate between them, often under tight deadlines, and you must speak Spanish and English fluently, since you’ll use both languages every day on the job. You must be flexible: the nature of your tasks may change daily or over time, with you stepping up to do whatever is needed to give clients the best experience possible. Policies and procedures will change frequently, as we’re a fast-growing company constantly experimenting to optimize our delivery of services. To be clear, the work is at times intense: we're doing important, in some cases life-or-death, work for clients, on compressed timelines, and we’re serious about promoting a culture of excellence in all that we do. If you can handle that, and you’re passionate about supporting people who truly need the best help possible as they face a crisis, you’ll find working at Political Asylum Lawyers immensely rewarding. This role is open to candidates located in Argentina. What You'll Do - Coordinate with attorneys, both in-house and contractor, to ensure every interview and hearing on the firm’s calendar is covered, managing busy calendars and availability across multiple time zones. - Call clients in both English and Spanish to gather information, provide updates, schedule appointments, and ensure they remain engaged throughout their case development. - Accurately prepare and submit attorney appearance forms for each interview, within strict deadlines, to asylum offices, clients, and attorneys. - Serve as the primary liaison between clients and attorneys, ensuring clear communication flows in both directions and all parties stay informed of case developments and requirements. - Maintain detailed tracking systems to ensure no critical deadlines are missed and all submissions are completed on time. - Proactively identify potential issues or bottlenecks in case progression and communicate with teammates to resolve problems before they impact deadlines or client service. - Perform various coordination and other administrative tasks, as assigned. Qualifications - Commitment to the firm’s mission of helping immigrants secure their future in the United States through asylum. - Exceptional organizational skills and logistics management capabilities. - Fluency in Spanish and English. - Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. - Detail orientation and a strong ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. - Comfort and confidence making phone calls to clients and professional contacts. - Empathy and patience when working with clients in crisis situations. - The ability to work well under pressure and maintain accuracy during intense periods. - Tech-forward skills and eagerness to learn new online systems and procedures. - The ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision. - Strong follow-up skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset that anticipates needs and addresses issues before they escalate. Benefits - This position offers a monthly gross salary of USD 1,300 - 1,500, commensurate with experience and qualifications. - 11 U.S. federal holidays off (paid) regardless of your location. - Week between Christmas and New Year's — office closed, fully paid. - Local holiday work that doesn't coincide with a U.S. holiday is compensated per your country's labor laws. - Comprehensive training program — we invest in bringing you up to speed on our systems and best practices. - Mentorship and collaboration — learn from experienced practitioners in your field and contribute your expertise. - Career advancement paths — we promote from within and create opportunities. - Equipment support — stipend or provided equipment to set up your home office, available after 4 months on the job. How to Apply To apply, please submit a resume and a cover letter, both of which must be in English. Your application won’t be considered without a cover letter. Your cover letter should explain why you’re uniquely qualified for this particular position, and why you would be a great fit for our law firm. Generic, copy/paste cover letters will be discarded. Upload your cover letter and resume, in PDF format, through the software program where you’re viewing this announcement. Please do not call or email us about this opening.
