Role Description We are seeking an experienced Web & Shopify Developer to build and launch a new roadside assistance website and subscription platform for Stay Upright. The role will focus on: - Creating a mobile-responsive signup and payment experience. - Integrating subscription billing and backend workflows. - Supporting a future Shopify store for motorcycle gear and accessories. This is an initial 8–10 week contract with potential ongoing work. Key Responsibilities - Develop and launch the roadside.stayupright.com.au website and customer signup flow. - Build a responsive, mobile-first subscription and checkout experience. - Integrate Chargebee (or similar), payment gateways (Stripe/PayPal), and automated customer emails. - Configure subscription plans, GST/tax settings, customer records, and analytics tracking. - Integrate customer data with backend systems via REST APIs, webhooks, or CSV exports. - Create basic customer subscription management and admin support workflows. - Complete testing, debugging, go-live support, and handover documentation. - Design and develop a future Shopify online store, including theme customisation, product setup, and payment/shipping configuration. - Provide regular progress updates and collaborate with the National Marketing Manager. Qualifications - Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills. - Experience building responsive, mobile-first websites. - Experience with subscription billing platforms (preferably Chargebee) and payment gateway integrations. - Knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and data transfer workflows. - Experience developing signup, checkout, or customer account management systems. - Understanding of Australian GST/tax requirements for online payments. - Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Highly Desirable - Shopify development experience, including Liquid and theme customisation. - Experience with Shopify APIs, Payments, inventory, and product catalogue setup. - Customer portal development experience. - Experience working with Australian businesses or within the automotive, motorcycle, insurance, membership, or training industries. - Availability to overlap with Australian business hours for at least 4 hours daily. Working Arrangements - 6 months contract with potential ongoing Shopify development work. - Daily check-ins, weekly progress updates, and access to all required systems and development environments provided.
