Role Description The primary responsibility of this position, which reports to the Head of Learning Services, is to provide leadership and expertise in the design of exceptional learning experiences while also managing projects and relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to consistently meet project deliverables to a high standard and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities and Duties - Undertake successful client and senior stakeholder management across a mix of projects in the context of large work programs. - Manage projects and teams, contribute to thought leadership, provide mentorship, and undertake successful performance partner relationships. - Develop and maintain successful team processes, capabilities, communications and culture. - Apply an understanding of various pedagogical techniques and learning ecosystems to the architecture, design, and creation of successful learning resources, activities, and assessments in several higher education fields. - Engage in business development activities, including presenting to potential clients, writing proposals, and pursuing new opportunities, as well as managing existing client relationships to develop return business. - Oversee and successfully guide several complex concurrent projects to ensure that all projects have appropriate planning, oversight, resource management, communication, and control. - Identify risks and issues impacting projects, portfolios and teams and work with clients and project teams and take timely, considered action to manage these appropriately. - Work closely with subject matter experts and teaching staff to co-design and create innovative online learning experiences. - Work independently or in a distributed team using a variety of collaboration tools. - Write high-quality student-facing material to appropriate AQF and industry standards. Qualifications - An undergraduate degree with 5+ years of experience working in a higher education/University learning and teaching environment. - Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing online learning content. - Demonstrated experience in managing people and complex programs of work while consistently delivering outcomes within budgets and timelines. - Strong understanding of learning theories, pedagogical practices and their relationship to current and emerging educational technologies. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and external stakeholders at all levels, and the ability to effectively explain complex educational ideas. - High-level problem-solving skills and an ability to be adaptive and innovative. - Experience in the use and integration of educational technologies, rich and interactive media and digital resources in curriculum design within a learning management system. - Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and solve problems in a complex environment focussed on quality improvement, excellence, and innovation in the use of technology to enhance learning in higher education. - Demonstrated ability to take the lead, exercise initiative and overcome obstacles. Desired Skills & Qualifications - Masters Degree or comparable experience. - Proven knowledge of the higher education sector and online educational trends nationally and globally. - Dual-sector experience would be an advantage.
