Tax Relationship Manager

Role Description We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Tax Relationship Manager to join our Tax team. The Tax Relationship Manager will cultivate and strengthen client relationships while driving business growth. This is an external and internal-facing role. In addition to managing client relationships, this person will mentor staff, actively participate in the community, and identify opportunities for revenue generation. - Communicate with existing clients and prospects via email, telephone, and video calls and meetings. - Actively manage and grow existing and new client relationships. - Communicate effectively with clients to resolve concerns in a timely manner. - Strengthen client relationships through regular contact, including lunches, dinners, and activities. - Manage client relationships and billing run while collaborating with mentors/department heads to ensure appropriate fee structures. - Identify and capitalize on opportunities for revenue growth. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business environment and client needs. - Accept and transition new client relationships seamlessly as part of succession planning. - Represent the company with confidence and professionalism at external events. - Actively mentor, coach, and develop staff, fostering growth and collaboration. - Involve team members in client meetings, lunches, and community events to support their professional development. - Commit to at least 15 hours per month of community involvement, including participation on at least one community board or committee outside of the firm. Qualifications - CPA required. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent degree as determined by the management committee, required. - Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred. - 6 to 9 years of experience in public accounting. - Current and in-depth knowledge of relevant tax laws, rules, and regulations. - Ability to analyze financial and tax data, tax research, and legal documents in order to make decisions on appropriate course of action. - Proven experience in client relationship management and business development. - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to engage with clients and teams both professionally and confidently. - Passion for mentoring staff and contributing to the local community.
