Commercial Construction Estimator – Healthcare

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for healthcare construction projects across conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP/bid phases • Utilize AI estimating software and digital takeoff tools to enhance quantity accuracy, pricing consistency, and rapid scenario analysis • Analyze drawings, specifications, and healthcare-specific requirements (e.g., AHCA, FGI Guidelines, ICRA) to define full project scope • Develop estimates that account for phasing, infection control measures, interim life safety measures (ILSM), and work in occupied environments • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids with a focus on healthcare-experienced trade partners • Act as a liaison between the design team and subcontractors by reviewing, clarifying, and helping resolve preconstruction and estimating-related RFI’s to ensure scope alignment and minimize gaps or overlaps along with maintaining and cataloguing all RFI’s and responses/clarifications. • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams to align estimates with logistics, sequencing, and patient care constraints • Identify value engineering options that maintain compliance, patient safety, and operational continuity • Build and maintain cost databases specific to healthcare construction, including historical data and AI-assisted cost models • Support preparation of proposals, budgets, and client presentations for healthcare clients and stakeholders • Track estimate performance versus actual costs to continuously refine estimating accuracy • Assist in proposal preparation, bid submissions, and client presentations
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on healthcare projects
- Hands-on experience with AI estimating tools, automated takeoff platforms, or data-driven estimating systems
- Strong proficiency in Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar)
- In-depth understanding of healthcare construction standards, codes, and compliance requirements
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents with a high level of accuracy
