Texas Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to manage personal injury cases from the filing of a lawsuit through trial. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Texas civil litigation, understands Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, and can independently manage a high-volume litigation caseload. - Manage a litigation caseload from suit filing through trial preparation. - Draft and file pleadings, motions, notices, discovery requests, discovery responses, and subpoenas. - Prepare and electronically file documents through Texas eFile. - Calculate and monitor litigation deadlines in accordance with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and court scheduling orders. - Coordinate service of process and monitor returns of service. - Organize medical records, billing records, and other case evidence. - Prepare deposition notices, witness files, exhibit notebooks, and trial binders. - Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial settings. - Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, expert witnesses, and medical providers. - Assist attorneys with mediation and trial preparation. - Maintain accurate case management notes and ensure all deadlines are met. - Review incoming pleadings and correspondence and take appropriate action. - Support attorneys during trial as needed. Qualifications - Minimum 2+ years of Texas personal injury litigation experience (required). - Thorough knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas court filing procedures. - Experience managing litigation cases from filing through resolution. - Proficiency with Texas eFile system. - Strong knowledge of discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation. - Experience reviewing and organizing medical records and billing records. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities. - Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Requirements - Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred. - Experience using case management software such as Filevine, Litify, SmartAdvocate, Needles, Clio, or similar. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
