PRN BEAHVIORAL HEALTH EVALUATOR
Mercy Medical Center
Role Description The PRN Behavioral Health Evaluator provides remote behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and resource linkage for Emergency Department patients of all ages during evening, weekend, and holiday coverage hours. - Conduct timely bio-psychosocial evaluations and crisis assessments for ED patients through a virtual platform. - Make rapid clinical assessments and decisions to ensure patients are linked to the appropriate level of care. - Review urinalysis and assess how substance use may contribute to psychiatric symptoms and mental health concerns. - Complete suicide/homicide risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention. - Determine appropriate level of care, including inpatient, residential, outpatient, detox, crisis stabilization, or discharge planning. - Coordinate psychiatric placements and community resource referrals. - Collaborate with ED staff, psychiatry, nursing, case management, and outside providers. - Provide supportive counseling, de-escalation, and patient/family support. - Maintain timely, accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. - Provide on-call coverage and respond to consults within departmental expectations. Qualifications - Masters Degree in Social Work with 2 years post-graduate experience in a health care setting. - Fluency in Spanish preferred. - Minimum of LSWA, LGSW or LCSW. LCSW-C preferred. Requirements - Minimum of LSWA, LGSW or LCSW. LCSW-C preferred.
