Role Description The primary objective of this consultancy is to establish a robust regional evidence base and execute strategic, evidence-driven advocacy aimed at institutionalizing the inclusion of modern contraceptive commodities within National Essential Medicines Lists (NEMLs) throughout the Arab Region. By systematically addressing regulatory barriers and ensuring the integration of these life-saving commodities into national pharmaceutical governance frameworks, the consultancy directly supports the regional priority of securing rights-based, sustainable access to family planning and recognizes essential contraceptives as a fundamental, strategic component of national health systems and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). You will report to the Regional SCM specialist. Qualifications - Advanced University Degree (Master’s or PhD) in Public Health, Pharmacy, Health Economics, or a related field. - 7 years of professional experience in health systems research, particularly SRH and family planning. - Extensive knowledge of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), relevant health indices, and essential medicines policy, including National Essential Medicines Lists (NEMLs) and pharmaceutical procurement. - Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context of Arab countries and experience working in fragile or conflict-affected settings. - Demonstrated experience in generating complex analytical reports, policy summaries, and multi-country assessments for UN agencies. - Proven expertise in developing high-level communication, advocacy, and training materials tailored for policymakers. - Previous experience in delivering similar regional assignments and familiarity with UNFPA’s mandate and the ICPD Programme of Action. Requirements - Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. - Knowledge of Arabic and French is considered a significant additional asset. Role Description The purpose of this international consultancy is to document, compile, and curate promising digital CSE models relevant in the Asia Pacific region, focusing on factors influencing adolescents’ use of these platforms. - Conduct a landscape analysis of promising digital CSE models for adaptation and scaling in the Asia Pacific region. - Map factors and digital determinants for adolescent SRHR. - Identify common pathways through which digital ecosystems impact adolescent knowledge, attitudes, norms, practices, and online safety. Key components will include: - Conceptual framework mapping digital ecosystem factors affecting adolescent SRHR. - State of Evidence and Scoping Review of digital ASRHR and CSE models in the Asia Pacific region. - Analysis of digital determinants used by young people. - Scoping and documentation of promising digital CSE models, especially youth-led and scalable initiatives. - Identify pathways that facilitate CSE-ASRH linkages. The documentation process will include a desk review, regional consultations, and validation of models addressing digital determinants.
